Great tune Jack, though I've heard the Irish fiddle bed before. You did a terrific job playing the tin flute!
God bless,
Rick

Hey Rick... &mdash 03/01/07 - 10:26:34 AM
Nothing fancy... a couple of loops and some fun on the tin flute. I hadn't picked it up in a while and just felt like a bit of a jig was in order. Glad you liked it!

windy &mdash 03/01/07 - 05:09:59 PM
You have really got a good grip on those wind instruments. I could visualize three musicians from the middle ages playing this... I'm getting some Robin Hood images in on my screen now;)
I bet you'd look good in that kind of costume;)
he he, that Loopy O'Shea did a good job on the fiddle... [ Reply to This ]

... Loopy O'Shea is quite a musician... I just can't keep him away from the drink!
As far as the Robin Hood costumes... hmmmm, if it will get our little band a paying gig... or (as Loopy O'Shea says) at least free drink when performing... but we'll have to ban all photography!

look light and be lively m' lad &mdash 03/01/07 - 07:18:08 PM
I've a drop or two of the celtic blood in m' self... this stuff aways calls from the deep for me... some kind of DNA pre-disposition.... nice job... I really enjoyed this
I have a song in the works that has a penny whistle bridge... but it's a synth... this sounds much better [ Reply to This ]
Same here... &mdash 03/01/07 - 09:40:26 PM
I am 1/4 Irish and this kind of music calls to me also. So I know what you are talking about. I have only posted two other Irish tunes... Mystic Midnight Dance (under Dadai) and My Home Long Ago (with rshcletty under Postludes Trio). They are two of my favorites. There is just a enough melancholy in their music (whether jigs or ballads) to always suit me.
Thanks for stopping in, Scott.

Aye Lad, &mdash 03/02/07 - 10:21:08 AM
and in this establishment, the players drink for free! Great job on the tin flute; I've got an idea for collaboration using that if you are interested. [ Reply to This ]
For sure... &mdash 03/02/07 - 11:31:28 AM
send me a note with your idea. I am always open to considering a collab...

Don't remember if I'd taken that in....
How very cool. And you have nice tone, too... not super breathy... This really sounds neat...

Hey Ed... &mdash 03/03/07 - 01:40:33 AM
yeah, it's been a while since I had a song up with me playing the tin flute... i have a few up from 2004. My favorite is a collab with Mike Lavoie, a fine guitarist who is no longer here at MacJams. You should check out his songs. the collab with him is called Dance Under The WatchTower..
http://www.macjams.com/song/5970. He also played guitar on the first two sonnet songs with Richard and me (Postludes). His artist name is Mr. EI Oval.
Top of the morning to you!

I'm Ready &mdash 03/14/07 - 10:04:56 PM
...for the Paddy's day, a Guinness and fish dinner at one of the Irish pubs around Ann Arbor. Your Tin Whistle got things going for me. If you get a chance, check out my new funky and totally un-Irish strut and the un-sober picture of a Guiness glass trying to do an funky strut down the street.
Thanks for puttin me in the mood for a nice glass of the Guiness. [ Reply to This ]
how fun. &mdash 03/20/07 - 05:11:50 PM
it really is so light and airy, Aerie :)
I am Irish, Black Irish, Scottish, and Welsh... it's amazing I can even get along with myself!
This is great, though. I have several celtic cd's, and listen to them more frequently than i'll admit... shhh!
