Description:
I am writing more on piano these days. I have finally faced the fact that I am not a strong guitarist.

Lyrics:
Yesterday Came
Without a big sound
It hurried through the morning
to the afternoon crowd

So I looked without looking
for the sun in your eyes
I never understood
I never wondered why

And then night to morning
So then I saw something

Today and Tomorrow
now and forever

Tomorrow may rain
The news that I had
said afternoon clouds
would cover my head

So I waded through the morning
coffee in hand
I was never very good at this
I wonder why I try

So now its disconcerting
And now Im returning

Today and Tomorrow
Now and Forever

And then, I saw something
And then, Ill come back for you

Tonight Tomorrow
Yesterday sorrow

Yesterday came
Without a big sound
I think I passed you in the morning
or the afternoon crowd

So maybe next year
or the next time around
Ill catch up on my reading
be a different clown

So now, its disconcerting
and now, I returning

Tonight tomorrow
is yesterday's sorrow

Chorus

There are a lot of very good things about this song. You have a great voice and the melodies are moving. I like the little touches like the guitar part you put in there. But the chords you are playing on the keys sound quite dissonant. I hear a lot clashing notes that I think are primarily in the lower part played with the left hand. At times the dissonance sounds kind of interesting and dramatic, so I wonder if it is intentional. But overall it throws in an odd clash that mostly takes away from an otherwise beautiful piece of music. If it is intentional I'd recommend only using the dissonance occasionally for effect.

To be honest, I tend to pensil the bass lines in after I record the main piano parts. In this case, I probably kept some of those too long and the sustain may have been carying over. I should probably invest in a digital piano and record these as audio tracks but I really like what I can do to the midi tracks in logic...Logic is far clumsier with the audio tracks. For instance, pitch change just leaves me with some odd results sometime and the quantify tools seem limited. It may be time to switch to logic Pro.

I like this a lot. This song has presence and force. I really think you have a great sense of songcraft. My one nit would be along the lines of Peters comment re: piano dissonance. I think the whole track played one octave up would make a difference. Anyway, pls accept the suggestion with my best intentions. I look forward to checking out your other material.
