Nice. On so many levels. Wonderful playing. I also see from your bio page that you play bass. Do you do collabs? The tree in your photo reminds me of the first Kevin GIlbert CD tree. It complimented the music, warm and stark, intimate and full of depth. I look forward to any music, new or old, you share...

Thanks for the beautiful words.Happy to hear you like the song. (by the way the picture was taken in the UK in the New Forest)
I'd love to do collabs with other macjammers.

See you

Beautiful... &mdash 03/09/07 - 08:20:29 PM
Wonderful playing...this is simply exquisite. Can I ask how it was recorded? It sounds like it was direct from an undersaddle pickup, which gives a sort of unpleasant "rubberband" quality to the strings. I would love to hear this recorded with a good mic....other than that, it is simply stunning and beautiful!

You are right about the recording. The guitar is a fantastic cedar top custom built by Jacky Walraet (Belgium)
and deserves better. It has fantastic acoustic qualities.
I'd better record it with an external mike (I do have one now, but a didn't when I recorded the song)

Thanks for listening and the comment

Dextrous &mdash 03/10/07 - 06:04:26 AM
and melodious. Almost like a cross between finger pick and Flamenco styles.

Liked it.

It's always interesting to learn what people notice when listening to your music (talking about influences).
Thank you.

Lovely tune .... &mdash 03/12/07 - 08:25:53 AM
... and beautifully played. I agree with Rebsie about the recording - at first I thought it was a harpsichord (until the harmonics and bends came in). Fascinating piece.
Welcome to MJ (sorry that's a bit late!).
Any friend of Walter's is a friend of mine.
Peace,
Neil

wonderful piece. many unexpected twists, turns, chord movement. Great playing. The guitar doesn't sound totally like a guitar but I like the sound you got very much! nice attack on all the notes with a full bodied tone and ultra clear. Nice compostion and performance. Thanks for sharing this with us!

Glad you liked it. The guitar is an 8 string (2 lower strings).

...nice to hear you on a steel string? That sustained bend was priceless.

As always: who's the maker?

Sounds awesome, stefaan. Ain't you somethin'...

Looking forward, very much, to your next offering...

Hi Bob, You asked something about the maker. I suppose you mean the guitar because the song, I made it myself :)
The guitar is a fantastic cedar top custom built by Jacky Walraet (Belgium). It has maple sides and back.
Next time I record a song with it I'll post a picture.
