Description:
This song depicts a Prince and Princess in love, but separated by land, sea, war, and politics. Through all things opposing their relationship, they manage to meet secretly, under cover of night. They plan to escape their respective kingdoms, and form a new one of their own.Rendezvous for me, was a throwback to hearing "pizzicato" strings at orchestral concerts. I always marveled at the way they could create miraculous music out of lightly plucking their strings together, raveling tightly meshed melodies in and around each other, in a hushed sort of excitement that always put me on the edge of my seat. The piece itself is a Suite, starting out with just the strings. In the middle, the piece changes leadership, and stops to reflect on a new Celtic influenced ensemble with harp and guitar, and then the two join in song together, to form the end of the piece.
