Description:
The concept of this mix is one of a purely electronic or synthesized orchestra that is warming up and waiting for a real choir to turn up and what happens next.

The odd choir member turns up and starts adding the odd bit of vocal colour but as you'll see, the full choir don't either make it to the rehearsal or decide to go for a coffee or something to eat instead of practising with the orchestra.

The piece does have structure but the foundations are crumbling somewhat.

There's more to this piece if you can stand the listening.

The good thing is that it does eventually end.....

Hardware:
Dual boot Macs, Roland Fantom X7.

Software:
Many soft synths and other music fixing stuff.

Writing as I listen.. &mdash 03/14/07 - 11:05:16 PM
My unprepared instant reaction to this is quite a freaked out one - in my imagination this pitches somwhere between a factory full of half built robots that are springing gradually into life of their own accord or of something more cosmic.Standing in a field at night and seeing something really odd happening in the sky, like a new sun being born .Somebody told me in scotland once that they'd been to a festival on the west coast and had seen a triangle form in the sky.I happened to meet someone in the south who didn't know the person I'd met in the North but had been to the same festival. He'd also seen a triangle form in the sky.I dont know why I'm the only person so far to enjoy this. Its probably the most original piece Ive heard on here in a long time.Very atmospheric - lots of textures and deep ominous growls (good orchestra sounds by the way) - I guess its just too weird for some people.Theyve obviously never been to a StockHausen concert like I did when I was 17,I even had a few albums! Good work, man!

Thanks for listening.... &mdash 03/17/07 - 02:59:08 PM
Thanks for stopping by to listen Richard.

The piece is, from one point of view, another itch that I scratched.

Since Chrimbo I've been listening to many diverse artists and this piece came about after a couple of CD's of Tangerine Dream set me to thinking electronica and orchestration.

The result is this piece of babble-de-gook (but without the lyrics) that is sometimes harsh to the sensible (or less adventurous) ear.

I guess that there will be more of this type of Reinholt-audio stuff over the coming months (or years) as more diverse media tickles my inner ear in ways that I wouldn't want to control, could I do so and as more presets, of many obscure soft synths, take a hold of me.

Take care.

Paul.

Close Encounters... &mdash 05/09/07 - 04:54:16 PM
I think I bought one of those Tangerine Dream albums that got you started on this journey. Actually I like your music better. Partly because at the time I was shocked not to find their more kenetic rhythmically complex material. On the oter hand this did hold my interest.
Like paddler I was reminded of UFOs and such partly because of certain Close Encounter like tones.
Nice work Reinholt.
Best,
-Bowman

Thanks for listening, Bowman... &mdash 05/10/07 - 11:42:46 AM
I did not really enjoy what I heard on my first listen to old Tangerine Dream stuff, but I've since listened again to Phaedra? and it seems to be growing on me.

I'm glad you found something to like in my music. I'll keep uploading various experimental stuff until the itch is scratched enough or something else happens.

Take care.

Paul.
