Description:
My first themes for my "concert for E-Piano and Garageband" Project. Don`t look for my playing errors... it is recorded without any further editing directly from my E-Piano into the IMac. Just a few tunes, just to share and to get some comments.

Still a long way to go, but the first steps are done...

Wonderful! &mdash 03/08/07 - 02:17:53 AM
I love melodic pieces....and this one has a beautiful tune! A suggestion: the trio of notes (da-da-da) the follows the melody towards the beginning would sound (to my ears) better as a single note without the octave. But that is an individual taste and it does not detract from the melody. Concert for Piano and Garage Band uh?, excellent title. I noticed your sense of humor first when I listen to your song about the sheep. That one was very good to!

Your comments are always appreciated. You might be right, less could be more at this place. I'm just collecting parts for the whole concert, and it isn't sure whether this melody is played by the piano... (not only...)

"Concert for E-Piano and Garageband"? I am sure that someone at Apple had the same idea during name finding...;-)

Thanks for your kind words!

I appreciate &mdash 03/10/07 - 10:43:53 AM
the steps that you took; sometimes tentative, sometimes bold. I liked this very much and look forward to seeing how it develops.

God bless,

Rick

very promising &mdash 03/14/07 - 03:44:06 PM
I'm glad I stopped at your songpage here, Bernd. I very much like what I hear. The contrast between the new age floating melancholy and the 20th century emotional angryness. Very promising, and I cn't wait to hear the finished piece.

Two little nits: the piano sounds a bit to e-piano in my ears, and the stereo effect should be mirrored (low notes left, high notes right).

Thanks! &mdash 03/15/07 - 01:31:45 PM
Yeah, you're right, I've interchanged the plugs... high keys should be on the right side...
My E-Piano is a low cost one, which is about 11 years old and the sound is far away from a real piano... and I've made no edits on this record... I hope, I can improve the sound a little.

Thanks for your nice comments!

Love it ! &mdash 03/22/07 - 03:55:17 AM
Indeed once again some kind of masterpiece. I'm looking forward to hear more of it. I really love the middle melodic part. Even if it is a low cost e-piano its sounds great to me. Thank you for sharing!

Thank a lot... &mdash 03/22/07 - 06:11:45 PM
..it is still not a masterpiece, but I hope, in the end it will be one. (now I am putting myself under self created pressure....uaaaaah)

If you have an e-piano for many years (like me), you will take the given sound as a standard and you have to play sometimes on a really good piano to reset your standards. I think, for a cheap 88 keys e-piano, it sounds really good and I bought it for two reasons: If you touch a key very gently, it will make no sound, like a real piano, too. And, if you press, let's say, a "G" so soft, that it makes no sound, and hold it and give a short, hard "C" below, you will hear the still holded "G", swinging stimulated as a quint from "C". I had to have this e-piano, when I realized this the first time. Remember, it is over ten years old...
But, it's an italian one, and it's like italian cars: Very sophisticated and having an own soul, but not very reliable..

Thanks for listening and I am glad, that you like it!

I agree &mdash 05/06/07 - 10:26:44 AM
I listened and listened and wondered when in the world that e-piano would appear, but it never did! E-pianos in my world sound very different! Excellent piece again, thanks!

Oh, &mdash 05/06/07 - 12:09:14 PM
E-Piano stands here also for "Emulated Piano"...

Thanks for listening and leaving a comment!

Glad you liked it!
Now the first movement of my concert is growing, and i hope i will show up with it in the next weeks...

Very Nice &mdash 04/06/07 - 09:38:49 AM
So you did this on the fly... I'm impressed. Very moving piece. You have a lot of talent and you emote it well.

Danke! &mdash 04/06/07 - 11:21:51 AM
You may laugh, but normally I am only playing on the fly...

And sometimes, when I woke up in the middle of the night and walked to the piano, just to express what detained me from sleeping, I can't remember the melody I've found in the night the next time im sitting at the piano...

I have a recorder direct next to the piano for that reason, but I always forget to press the record button...

Thanks for listening and leaving a comment!

Greetings,

Bernd
