Description
Matt M supplied the great vocals. I did the guitars, lead, bass, etc. The lyrics are from a poem written by Dulcie Levene. This was written in NYC soon after the twin towers came down in 2001. The words are amazing, and seemed to refer to the tragedy we had just witnessed in some weird way. The winds had blown the ashes of thousands over my home in the following days, no graves, no monuments. This has always been one of my favorite "USER" songs. It's just direct, uncluttered and heartfelt.
I know the vocal clips and is overamped a little, but I don't have the multitrack files anymore so I can't fix it.

Last Wishes of a Seafaring Man

(renamed by racerat for the song: Duty Visits)
Scatter my ashes on the sea
And as I float on crested wave
I want no tears or grief for me
Or duty visits to my grave…
Don’t bury me beneath the ground
No cold imprisoned tomb for me.
Or headstones with an earthly mound
That’s not the place I want to be.
It’s where the winds blow fresh and free
I know that I will lie content
The sea I love my cemetery
The waves my only monument…

we had ashes on our patio table that we couldn't wash away - we waited for the rain and wind to do the job. Well played tune well sung and well received here.
