Description:
This is a full episode. It is a little over an hour, so you will probably want to download and listen on the go.

I “compressed” it to a 64 mp3 to keep the file size down. (It was 30 MB as an AAC file, and “compressing” to 128 mp3 created a 60 MB file.) It was 90 MB at 192 mp3.

I am still looking for comments. They can be about the format, the song slelection, or anything else you think of.

I assumed that if artists submitted the song to the challenge, they would be alright with having the song in the podcast. If you want it removed, let me know.

That's a good idea. I will try to get them up here. That would help a person know if they have listened to all the songs mentioned or not.

In the meantime, just in case you haven't listened to the podcast, I do mention the title and the artist before each track.

Thanks for listening. And thanks for LIOLI. Without it, I would have had to work harder to find material for this one.

Any suggestions for to make the next one better?
More talking less music, more msic less talking. Should I comment more on the songs and risk the wrath of the artists? (I've read the threads on voting.) :-)

It's time to carve out a section of the front page of MacJams, to dedicate to our Official MacJams Podcaster.

Episodes to be displayed for the downloading with some sort of program listing of the episodes. A twice-a-month- show perhaps playing picks of the week or month etc.?

Doing a great job.

Glad you liked it. It would be cool to have a spot for it on the web. Then all could download the full podcast complete with the "official" episode picture, and also the picture of each song. I had placed them all in episode 1, then realized that when I sent it to iTunes that it was audio only.

For Episode two, I collected them but did not use them.

If we did have access on the front page, I could submit them to iTunes as well and promote MacJams there as well. The website would have to support RSS for that to happen.

Great to relive round 2 like this. What a nice way to further spotlight this fun event.

As for commenting on the songs...hmm. Yeah, that could easily get sticky if someone takes offense, and let's face it, someone ALWAYS takes offense. Maybe you could get comments from the songwriters instead, or if you don't want to go to the trouble, you could pull a quote from the song description.

Thanks for the suggestions as well. I had already thought about using the song descriptions as a way of adding to the podcast.

The best (and worst) part is the amount of great music we have at MacJams. It's easy to fill an hour with great music. But for a good podcast, there will need to be a unified theme, and of course trying to decide who to include and avoid playing favourites, and possible missing out on a great song could be problems.

So far it's been fun making them!
