Description:
Playing rumba, just felt like doing it, haven't done it in a while, used to do it allot. Light, and airy, I imagine myself galloping on a horse through a chaparral sunset when playing this.

nice &mdash 03/18/07 - 05:31:08 AM
very nice guitar playing!!! The melody and feel are just right. I was wondering what kind of mic you used or the method of recording.

Thanks so much,... &mdash 03/18/07 - 11:02:59 AM
I was very relaxed and in the mood for playing rumba, I am so happy you think the feel was just right. I used a Samson CO1U USB condenser microphone (usb direct input to an imac). I layed a rythm track then another track of solo over that.

Very sweet &mdash 03/19/07 - 10:48:32 AM
This lulled me into melting into the music, and I was saddened when it just stopped... I might suggest an ending chord/strum though. Really nice playing here, flowing and rich. So who is passed out on the couch behind you? They're missing the nice music! :-)

thanks so much, really a nice comment. I always know I am in a good mood when I want to play this rumba, really a no worries kind of things, just a chaparral sunset in mind, or some such thing. I know it looks like there was someone sleeping behing me on that couch, but there wasn't really!!! I changed the photo though to some wild mustangs, rumba makes me think of that.

Really good &mdash 03/22/07 - 09:08:16 PM
Sounds like you're just rolling along, casually weaving sweet melodies that meander up the walls of the valley. The horses are loving it, they're feeling free and jaunty. Great playing, Ian! [ Reply to This ]
Thank vortex... &mdash 03/26/07 - 04:36:21 AM
exactly the kind of thing I was imagining. Would love to get some actual horseback riding in, but it is such an expensive thing these days with the advent of automobiles, the earth would be much better off if we still did our traveling by horse, with global warming and all.

THE HIGH CHAPARRAL &mdash 03/23/07 - 04:46:22 AM
Perfect pace and progression to evoke the legends of the West.
Could be from a John Houston film.
Nicely picked with a smooth dynamic, throughout.

Thank You!!! &mdash 03/26/07 - 04:43:40 AM
I am a big fan of the romance of the west, that I had the oppotunity to capture is a real honor!!! So many people here at macjams are doing the same thing. Also a big fan of the east. Interesting how if you go far enouph east you are in the west, and far enouph west you are in the east living on a globe and all. From my reference I find the intersection in Flamenco.

On a horse... &mdash 03/25/07 - 03:22:57 AM
Good sound Ian and as always nice guitar playing. I like the atmosphere and the rhythm of this piece, very pleasant to listen. Thanks...

Thanx Marc... &mdash 03/26/07 - 04:49:52 AM
finally found the longing sound I long for in calmness and tranquility. The atmosphere is truly one I long for, sure wish I could ride horseback through the chaparral, but with the guitar I am finding one can create something that satisfies the urge without access to a horse.
