I must admit... &mdash 03/20/07 - 08:00:30 PM
...you play the monkey better than anyone I've ever heard. Though, I think the sheep may have been slightly out of tune. You might want to check that....

Lots of great ear candy here. Definitely need the headphones for this one. Fun, Fun, Fun!

changeup &mdash 03/21/07 - 12:39:14 AM
Man Bud, this is a trip. Totally fun. I think you should slip the monkey in next to the guitar solo, so it is like he's playing the lead. I like the changeup to slow and trippy to ease on out of the song, let's you down calm and easy. OK so I missed the rooster, maybe he couldn't hear himself. Are you sure you had the mix in his headphones leveled right?

The rooster &mdash 03/21/07 - 08:26:10 AM
comes right before the servo which is followed by the coin drop that leads into the sheep. That's in part three - after the walk from the helicopter to the airlock. Good idea about the monkey - I'll tell him.

I did this fast piece as a change from the slower stuff I'v been doing lately - but then I fell into the soft landing. I think you're right - I should explore the area a little more. Thanks for the suggestion.

I see you in a lab coat with thick glasses and electrodes sizzling behind your head. You've become the mad scientist/alchemist/funkinator of macjams...love the nautical ending! Are we on the Ark?

I like the Ark connection - &mdash 03/21/07 - 09:46:47 PM
never gave it a thought - in fact not till a while into this thing did I give much thought to the animals - they were just sounds.

made me realize how much this song was affected by what I'm reading at the moment. "Out of the Everywhere" by James Tiptree, Jr. It's a collection on Sci Fi stories that's really captivated me. Thanks for the comment.

Whoaaa... &mdash 03/23/07 - 03:13:20 PM
...anybody know where I can find a brain descrambler around here?
That's really cool how you use the country licks inside the rhythm base. Who's on the pedal steel...or is that inboard? Nice sound.
Gotta go...uh...to...do...uh...somethin'...
That was quite an experience, there, Bud.

It's all "inboard" - the pedal steel fell in - &mdash 03/23/07 - 05:08:57 PM
to my surprise. I was hearing a little country hoof beat in the breakbeat drums and thought I'd give it a shot. I just had to nip and tuck a little for fit. Thanks for stoppin in.

I think this IS the brain de-scrambler... &mdash 03/24/07 - 11:21:58 AM
Think of it as the red pill... or was it the blue...

You listen to this and suddenly you start seeing through your previously standard issue reality... Mountains are no longer mountains, and sheep, dare I say it, are no longer sheep...

And let's not get started on the monkey...

Once you start with the monkey - all bets are off.

Hello, Mr. Bud? &mdash 03/23/07 - 11:06:33 PM
Love the music; I'm from the animal protection agency. I just have a few questions for you..........................

Can you do one based on Drill Sergeants yelling at recruits?
Good job Bud, totally fun..

I think Egobandit would be the one &mdash 03/24/07 - 02:30:32 PM
to do the Drill Sergeant piece - he's great with voice samples and a truly twisted/gifted artist. Thanks for stopping by.

Wow &mdash 03/25/07 - 09:56:57 AM
That's really good. I'll have to work my way through your catalog now. That arp guitar at the end is beautiful (it sounds amazing in the Ghandi song, too). Great work!

psychosis can be &mdash 03/31/07 - 06:27:22 PM
a good thing!?

It sounds like a fist fight broke out in your synth banks and they shattered all the goods.

The slide guitar is too damn funny.

What was the ambient stuff at the end, rustling papers and a creaky office chair?

The slide surprised the hell out of me &mdash 03/31/07 - 07:18:39 PM
there's magic in these loops I swear. The sound at the end is called something like "ship at sea" - creaking of the masts sloshing of the waves and all that.

the pedal steel &mdash 03/31/07 - 06:38:08 PM
slayed me...thats NOT what i expected. This is a wild trip that I couldn't anticipate (i love it when that happens). First off, your sound textures are phat - ala proppeller heads, really sweet sounding and quite innovative. I also love when the piece takes on another dimension and the Steve Howe like pickin gives way to the sound fx (at end). The tapestry changes all the time into something other than what it first seemed. That you doing the lead guitar? great job

Thanks for the phat comment - &mdash 03/31/07 - 07:21:25 PM
Do I sound phat in these phones? Glad you had fun. No - that guitar is not me - no instruments were involved in this production - all loops and FX.
