Blaine, that must've been some night... &mdash 03/24/07 - 08:38:46 PM
It's very cool that you have it on tape... You made a lot of music for one guy, one keyboard, one Strat and an EBow...
Can you say another word or two regarding how you set it up for playing and recording?
This is neat to listen to, and fascinating stuff...
Makin' my way through the latest tracks....

How it was done. &mdash 04/01/07 - 07:43:26 PM
Thanks EJH,
We had a generator that was located about 100 yards away so as not to interfere. I was using a Roland JX3P with an Analog controller. Roland didn't do very well with this particular Synth, but I absolutely loved it. It was something of an anolmoly as it was a digital sequencing synth with and add on analog controller. Man o man, I wish I still had it, unfortunately, I sold it in a moment of desparation for $300...
I also had a 2 track reel to reel configured that would capture the synth and guitar, then loop it back through my mixer and out again, an old trick I learned from a friend in college. For the guitar, I primarily used a boss digital delay (the first of it's kind) and the ebow, then everything went out to 2 monitors and a cassette deck. With the exception of the Guitar, everything (mixer and tape decks included) was mounted on an aluminum rack so I could control everything within reach. [ Reply to This ]
