Description:
This is my tribute to the Kinks. I played everything but drums (that's my buddy Scott).
It's recorded on a Tascam 4 track, and I bounced it to GB to see if it's possible to clean this stuff up at all. After I put it in GB, I added an organ from the software instruments.

Nice basement tape... good songwriting and drumming/guitar work. It did sound a little boomy, which some tricky parametric EQ might be able to fix (way beyond my knowledge though.) Oh, and the lyrics are slightly low in the mix (which you probably can't fix now, unless they are on a separate track.) And speaking of lyrics, there's an "explicit" swear word in there here and there, so you should edit the song profile and add the "Explicit" checkbox, since there are little kids on here :-) Oh, (slow synapse-firing today), and since this is a cool song and the singing is good but soft, you may want to type the lyrics into the song LYRICS section, so we can read along. :-)

You and Scott did a fine job with this pop tune. Your vocal harmonies are rich. I like this song. I like the subtle keyboards you added too. They fit nicely.
Tech talk goes here- How did you import the songs from the Tascam? 1 track at a time or....? Details for those of us that still have our 4 tracks and stackes of tapes. My Tascam is connected to my iMac and I run all my instruments through it into GB. Works like a charm.

Another great tune here - from a fellow Kinks fan - you really nailed the vibe. Very impressive Tascam production too - my 424 needs some work to get back in the mix. I've posted one or two pieces from final mixes from the eighties when it was my studio rig.
Back to the tune - excellent playing, singing writing. Please post lyrics if possible.

gotta go to the hospital with the wife in a minute (it's almost time for our baby to come). but while she's in the shower:
recorded it on the tascam and dumped the whole mixed track into GB (which I don't recommend as it's impossible to EQ). next time I'm going a track at a time and I'll figure out how to deal with the time shifting then.
thanks for listening, wish me luck.

Such a sweet name.
Post her picture on your next song. Maybe a lullabye?

there is a classic feel to it... as if it's been there for years, and I'm just dicovering now... also tell Scott... Great drum choices...

This is a gold mine! Surprised there aren't more comments. Doesn't take away from what it is - brilliant.

Another song you wrote that I wish I wrote. Damnit. :)
Wicked great song. You got a great acousitc guitar sound on that. The harmonies are also a very strong point.
Char
and I would like to hear you singing your lyrics a bit louder. Maybe, Someday, you'll make a version like that.
Thanks.

glad I checked out your blog to find this.
I kind of like the "boomy" sound... kind of a rich/warm sound that works well for the song. Great song too.
