Description:
Here is MacJams Podcast Episode 3. Enjoy.
It's a long one 1:17:12.
I compressed it to a 32 mbs mp3. You may want to comment on the sound quality. I had to make it this long, because I didn't want to omit any of the entries.
Please comment, suggest, and vote.

Terrific episode!
PROS: Great tour of the LIOLI submissions. I enjoyed your V/O of the artists song comments. This is a terrific way to experience MacJams content as it allows me to listen to songs in a themed category with references to the artists so I can look up the individual titles (the song list is very helpful in this regard).
CONS: Highly addictive!
SUGGESTIONS: You might consider adding the song number from the MacJams database. Its fairly easy to locate an entry by typing "www.macjams.com/song/xxxxx." It might also be fun to read an excerpt or two from the comments other members have left on a song's page as a means of lead-in (or "lead-out").
Lastly, it would be fantastic to be able to subscribe to your podcast and allow my iTunes to download it automatically. I've no idea how to do this, but maybe someone else could provide the details? [ Reply to This ]
Thanks for the advice & suggestions &mdash 03/26/07 - 10:58:48 PM
I never thought of using the song id#. I guess I assumed they wouldn't need it since I was playing it for them.
To allow iTunes to access the podcast for download, you need to have the file on a website with RSS feeds and few other items I currently forget. The iTunes store gives the details.
At the moment I can't afford to set up my own domain to do so. Plus, I don't know if I would be stepping on the sysop's toes by doing that.
Perhaps if they provided me with the space somewhere here (nudge nudge wink wink) he hinted.

Fun &mdash 03/26/07 - 08:21:17 PM
to listen to- enjoyed your commentary as well. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. I did notice the compression degrading the overall sound quality, but I don't have any idea how to get around that one. [ Reply to This ]
Thanks for listening &mdash 03/26/07 - 11:02:42 PM
One way to fix the sound quality is to keep them a little shorter. (I had to compress this one to 32 kbs before I could upload it. I tried 3 times at 64 and after 15 minutes, I was kicked off the page. I assume the file was too big.
Secondly, this was so long I had to make it in too parts, then put them into a 3rd GB file, after Pooey gave me a tip regarding the 1999 bar limit.
I may have accidentaly put an already compressed file in and compressed again. I will try to listen on line and see haw it sounds.
Thanks again.

Thanks for the kind words &mdash 03/27/07 - 03:56:49 PM
I didn't plan to be a champion for LIOLI, butwhen I was making episode 2 I needed an theme and LIOLI gave me one.
Then for episode three I thought I would do LIOLI 3 since it was a current topic.
For the record, the R2D2 comment comes staight out of Pooey's song description.
Glad you liked it. Watch for episode 4.

Great Idea, Great Job &mdash 03/29/07 - 08:24:45 AM
This is such a natural fit with the LIOLI concept... and your relaxed, easy commentary is just right. I don't worry about a few techno-quality issues here and there; that stuff inevitably improves as you go. This is a lot of fun, and adds another dimension to Chikoppi's LIOLI challenge.
Yeah, you may not have planned to be a champion, Stooey, but it looks like you got the job! [ Reply to This ]
Thanks Rik &mdash 03/29/07 - 02:26:11 PM
Glad you liked it.
I'm working on Episode 4 when I can find the time. Without something like LIOLI I have to spend more time searching for and listening to songs. (It's a hard existence, but I struggle through it!

Thanks for including my song in your post. As I am not one for words I will reiterate a common refrain of the typical artist song comment that I frequently make. Further to that one that I think sums up succinctly why I make music - Thanks For Listening! [ Reply to This ]
Thanks &mdash 05/12/07 - 10:57:01 AM
I enjoyed your entry into LIOLI 3.
Make sure you get your entry into LIOLI 4 to be included in that 'cast as well.
