OK. Time to put the questions to rest. I was a professional
Engineer and producer a few years back (left for various
reasons) I started playing around in GB and was amazed.
This track was a little test to see how realistic I could
make something sound with just loops and no live
playing.
Well... the test worked. NONE of what you are hearing is
played live! The bass and drums are GB loops. All the
guitar parts are loops from an old sample CD I had.
Not saying that it was easy to do. The solos are cut up
pretty intensely and in some cases there is only 3 notes in
a single loop.
I do play guitar and that is the only way I could get the
feel right. Could I have played the solos live? Yes but it
was more fun in GB to see the power the program held. I
am working on a couple more jazz pieces and will be
playing on them because it is a lot faster than cutting and
pasting a solo together.
The tremolo sound you are hearing on the rhythm guitar
is the loop falling apart. It was recorded at a much slower
tempo with chorus on it. Once I sped up the loop it gave
the tremolo sound and started to degrade the loop.
I want to thank all of you for your great comments about
the song. It may be loops but it still had to be arranged as
a song and that?s the fun part to me.
