Description:
Simple. Single takes.
An ode to Simple.
A simple man's prayer.
To, simply, the most important thing.

Not cluttered up.
Just a thought.

Lyrics:
DANCE WITH ME

Hey Baby won’t you dance with me?
The Stars are on Fire and the Wind’s blowin’ Free
And Tonight there’s just you and me
Oh, and our Love

I love you, Baby
And I always will
If you ever changed your mind
Come on back, I’d be here Still
Love you, Baby
You’re my Heart and my Soul

The day we met
The breezes closed the door
On everything that came before
Forever and a Day
And maybe more
You’ll still be the one that I Adore

Hey Baby won’t you dance with me?
The Stars are on Fire and the Wind’s blowin’ Free
And Tonight there’s just you and me
Oh, and our Love

The endless sky
And the field of Dew
The Breeze comes calling
And Your Silver Shoes
We’re surrounded by Stars
And Heaven’s Glance
Sees not the Dancers
But just the Dance

Late night bar - I'll have one last drink before I go. Your vocal makes this work - love the lyrics and the way you've presented them.

Yeah exactly &mdash 03/29/07 - 07:14:48 PM
Late night, very late night bar. Your vocal and the slow vibe kind of reminds me of Peter Gabriel singing "Waiting For the Big One". Brings back an alcohol slowness feeling. Nice work, Coop!

The HIT Man &mdash 03/30/07 - 10:12:56 AM
A recollection of a recollection over the Last Call - right there.

However, we still dance when Moon Shadows grace a Spring night, after all these summers gone.

Mind Bending work on "LifeStyles". Totally OUTTA HERE.

Where's My harmonica? &mdash 03/29/07 - 09:32:54 PM
Sounds like the last song at the open-mike; only we would get to jam with you, and this is one jam-able song. Great guitar licks; nice chord progression. I like how your vocal is affected; grabs the ear and holds on. Loved the line "day we met, The breezes closed the door On everything that came before" Really well said. Nice work.

OPEN MIC TUESDAYS &mdash 03/30/07 - 10:18:36 AM
Totally the Last Song on Open Mic Night!
Wish You'd been there, harmonica to Hand.

"Life is Good, but it is Hard", I heard once. Like the Blues side of Town.
Looking for your Next Collab, Brother. Nice Pipes!

Just Lovely &mdash 03/29/07 - 09:57:00 PM
What girl wouldn't love the message in this song? It's truly very sweet, you old softy!

I love the bridge, especially, but I'm going to get on your case about sucking on the reverb pipe as heavily as you did. Your voice doesn't need it and the song is a very close, intimate one. I'm going to send Joe after you if you're not careful, mister.

As RacerX said, this is a very genuine song and a very soulful performance.

POINT TAKEN &mdash 03/30/07 - 10:06:33 AM
Dear Lisa - Welcome Back.
Just heard "After All" with JB and Thank You Both; Fine Work!

The "small" amount of Track 'Verb, that you mention, is mise en scene of the piece: the smokey, Left Bank bar of the recollection, a setting of the telling.
Too Much? (he asks, knowingly).

Kidding aside, I very much appreciate your Spin and Comment.
The "softy" underneath it all is a Direct Hit. Transparent, sometimes, eh?

yeah &mdash 03/30/07 - 05:57:21 PM
I dig that guitar RT.

The simplicity of this tune is refreshing, 'cause it not so often found... Daring, and then simple and quiet as the last dance when you're one of the last couples dancing on a starry night:)

I'm getting soft here...

Well, bottom line.. I like it:)

[ Reply to This ]
Au Contraire &mdash 03/30/07 - 06:20:29 PM
That's Not Soft, That is the Vital

The guitar is elemental rather than ornimental, as it needs to be.
It tells it in it's own way, as You do So Well.

With Best Regards and Wishes,

like the slow burn of a guttering candle. Sweet licks in the break and singin straight from the heart. I see the old bartender dancin with the broom as he's sweepin up, and the last two people how've got nowhere to go are wonderin if they're goin there alone.

Romance is always Young. It's an energy, a life force.

I love your Image. Cool. Thank You.

I hope you got to hear it After Midnight, cause it is, as you say, "After Hours", a smoker ring of a tribute to her and a feeling.

Thanks so much for the Spin and Your Comment - appreciated.

Great slow dance.... &mdash 03/31/07 - 08:16:39 AM
Hold me tight, close to me
Let me see the smile in your eyes
Time's just right,
To dance all night
Share the love in our hearts

I'm not a poet, but now you know it
But this song really does somethin for me

My favorite lines in your song are:
"You%u2019re my Heart and my Soul..."
"You%u2019ll still be the one that I Adore.."

as you sing the ends of the choruses - great stuff

Nice control on your vocals throughout, you must have put a lot of practice into this, or you're just that good....

Before the phone call, we were talking about "Soul" (Very Cool Trx) in the Chat.

No, just Late Night GB musing. The Track cover, via Peak, gives the dimensional sense.
It was one pass Rhy Gtr and Vocal, one pass Ld Gtr, one pass Bass (played on a Strat. Ever tried to pluck a set of 09-42s? It's a Hoot).

Thanks for the Spin and Comment on a form that Must be Archaic to You.

Not to me. I'm a lover of music in all its forms (well...maybe not country so much). I don't play an instrument, however I have been influenced and inspired by those who manipulate the melody.

THAT WHICH REGIONS &mdash 04/02/07 - 07:01:41 PM
David Lynch is a favorite - Film Maker.

If the Utilitarian Grifter World of Four Flushers that Lynch presents exists, I've been spared any close encounters with it.

But Longing is the same, anyways. The piece skirts being a mirage and disembodied, save the Narrator's emphatic belief.
He holds tight in a shifting, ephemeral surrounding; the changes of time and place.

Thank You for the Spin and CRIT, - appreciated.

LISTEN TO MORE DYLAN &mdash 04/02/07 - 04:48:09 PM
If you find my presentation mindful of Dylan, you need to listen to More Dylan! heh heh.

Starting in 1959 I was taught guitar by a West Virginian focusing on Guthrie, the Carter Family, and such. By 1961, was playing guitar and harmonica together to his banjo and mandoline. First heard Dylan in 1963, but already had my first electric guitar.
I guess the functional stylistics at root are very similar, but it is hard for me to confuse myself with Dylan. I mean, no Joan Baez, Robbie Robertson, Edie Sedgwick, Andy Warhol - what the hey, short shrift or what?

Kidding aside, Thank You for the CRIT, if that's what you hear, there is a flaw of some laziness to think about over here.

Best Regards,
Coop

Yes, it's pretty late around here as I'm listening to this, and I'm so glad. And wow. breezes closing the door, stars blazing, silver shoes dancing among them. What lyrics! What a lucky lady the love of your life is, and how lucky you are to have her! This is beautiful! And your voice - gorgeous and very intimate, and the guitar - perfect. I love that solo in there, too. And why am I writing this comment? I should get back to the love of my life...

Very fine electric lede solo and riffs.

Mopey is a poor choice of words.... Just that there is a bit of a cry in your voice as you sing that is very engaging to my ear... kudos on the song and the singing.

Thank You, Brother.

Actually, there are no Fx on the Vocal Channel, itself, but the overal Track Fx in the Master catch that Channel, as well (can't afford Logic), which gives the piece a "Pop" air to it, despite the sole use of box one and two Blues scale guitar.

Category Confusion abounding.
