Description:
A Rhythm Riff the likes of Brian Jones as Sonny Hatchett Takes it To the House.

N. "Boomer" Porter leads the Picket Line on the Fender Bass.

Original song from Gunney Sacks on a Sound Check.

Here Goes.

Lyrics:
HOUSE OF BLUE LIGHT

See the girl with red dress on
she's at  birdland all night long

See the girl with the diamond ring
She's just thinkin about one thing

Baby baby lets go out tonite
O'ver to da house of blue light

(break)

Bridge:
The winds swept thru this harbor town
Turnin everythin upside down
You may recall the day I stole your blues away

See the girl with the diamond ring
She's just thinkin about one thing

Baby baby lets go out tonite
O'ver to da house of blue light

Talkin' bout that blue blue blue house of blue light

It's a "Swamp Boogie" for sure.

Thank You, our Blues Brother.

I do a version of this, but the way to make it work is to get "Sonny" to sing it.
The Boy's got story tellin' Goin' On. Simple piece, Good Vocal work.

Thank You for the Spin and Crit - appreciated, as always.

VBR,
Dixie

...has a habit of doing that...

Nice build on this...like the switch to the bridge...

Vocals are real sweet. Nice lead at the end. You know the style quite well.

You go...

Guys - this sounds like a great live performance. the vocals have a lot of guts to them, and the guitars sound great - really rough and gnarly. This sounds kinda like a more rock n roll INXS - it's got a real classic rock/blues feel to it.

But in some ways, it feels a little underdeveloped ... it feels like it ends too soon. Will give it a few more listens and try to get my head round the structure ..... but that is some guitar lickin' you've got going on!

POINT TAKEN &mdash 04/06/07 - 05:47:15 AM
You're right, Steve, I want "Sonny" to come back in before it's over, too.

There is a Three Verse version (more developed storyline) that this comes from, but we never got the logistics right during Production. Sorry for (obviously for you) hinting at the missing pieces. Good Grab though, Brother.

Very Best,
Dixie

Funky, groovin, dirty guitars, some kinda slapback echo, my kids are dancing all over the living room, nice! And I LOVE the solo at the end!
