Description:
This is an old hamlet machines pop song, recorded on a dusty scond-hand tascam four-track sometimes in 1990. I wrote the lyrics but it's Brentford- the right arm and left brain of the hamlet machines who sings it, better than I could.
Lyrics:
On all fours on the floors
of a palace of lace
without windows or doors
From birthday to birthday
have a hungry party
the way animals play
One thousand mouthes
open first on my face
and then all over me
let's have sex on sundays
how wild they were these days
of zeros and roses
And when I come
it's like the first time ever
but don't know why
I dream I die
the night after
I feel sick and spellbound
still like stone on a bed
but I know you're around
i hear you say i'm dead
but can't make any sound
can't even move my head
One thousand roses
slowly rain on the ground
and all over my head
let's have sex on sundays
how wild they were these days
in the laughterhouses
And when I come
it's like the first time ever
but don't know why
I dream I die
the night after

Im going to have to dig up my old 4 track recordings.

remake ? &mdash 03/31/07 - 07:25:41 AM
Sometimes I think it'd be cool, but most of the times, I think we'd rather spend the little time we have on new songs and ideas. Thanks for commenting.

I was there on that day wasn't I, I really like your guitar it's jaunty rhythm holds it all together. Lyrics are great and maybe should be redone with more clarity. I would have missed them entirely if not for the included text. This could be a damn fine song. Bravo [ Reply to This ]
Problem is &mdash 04/09/07 - 01:07:32 AM
I don't have the 4-track cassette and I have remixed this from a rough mp3. So there's not much I can do, except playing with filters and gates, which I'm not very good at. Thanks for listening, though.

another good &mdash 04/26/07 - 10:31:28 AM
song. i like this version (especially that guitar - genius), although i could imagine another version of it (i keep hearing lalalalalala backup vocals in my head and a gurgling synth); that said, i know the "more songs than time" quandary. so the end verdict from me would be: perfect quirk-pop song and the production fits the song. being in a band &mdash 04/26/07 - 12:56:36 PM
whose members live in a different city, sometimes a different country leaves a lot of things half-baked, if not downright raw. There is actually a more sophisticated version of this song, but this one is my favorite take.
