Description:
This is Miss D's favourite...So it should be

Lyrics:
JUST THE KIND OF GIRL
(Paul “Shaky O” Stacey)

1/.(standard 12-bar)

She’s just the kind of girl who was born to make a man sing the blues
She’s just the kind of girl who was born to make a man sing the blues
Put here on earth so you could know
what it was you were born to lose.

2/.(and on; straight, almost stop-time)
She make a man’s blood boil
at a distance of a thousand yards
One whiff of her perfume
and the softest little puppy-dog go hard
‘cos she’s.....

3/.
She says “I was barely thirteen
when men started taking these dangerous curves
Now they get selected,
and they learn to love what they deserve
‘cos she’s....

4/.
Used to have money in the bank, look what just left town.
Used to have a good reputation look what just got tore down
‘cos she’s....

Wonderful personality &mdash 04/02/07 - 08:06:30 AM
Love the character your vocals create and the whole vibe the backing band lends. Some of those keyboard moments are really nice. Love the line "they learn to love what they deserve." Hope there are many more sessions to come like this. (By the way, every instrumental - vocals, piano, guitar, drums - all sound like they're in different places, different studios. Not sure how to fix it, but maybe use the same reverb on all of them just to see if that makes a difference, and then adjust? And maybe bring the guitar and piano slightly closer to the middle in the pan.) Really entertaining.

Hey, everyone &mdash 04/05/07 - 07:17:34 PM
Thanx so much for the kind words and stuff. Tobin, I heard what you're talking about the moment I listened to the song again, don't know how I missed it in the first place, hopefully re-mastering can help.
Cheers, Shaky

I hope you catch the compliment... &mdash 04/02/07 - 07:34:42 PM
...this reminds me of some Long John Baldry stuff... Sort of Theater Of The Blues... with hints of Mose Allison and actually some John Mayall...

Great clarity and presence all around... everythings right there... I like the piano, and I love the guitar playing...

man shakey &mdash 04/05/07 - 09:12:01 AM
you upped yer game on this baby! this is GREAT blues my brother...the room reverb on the guitar amp is perfect...and the guitar work is just superb. I had no clue you could play like that...there have been hints that you could really rip, but this is beyond. I hear a lot of texas in the sound...more johnny winter than stevie, but full of everything good blues guitar should have...feeling up the ass, tone for days, and phrasing that has me smacking the table with my glass. This is a perfect blues recording, and i will gladly place it in my iPod, with the other masters who live there.

This was one of the most delightful listens I have had in my 2 years patrolling the streets of Macjams.

Deepest of deep bows to you!!

That's not me &mdash 04/05/07 - 07:12:49 PM
That's Wayne Alchin, who was about 20 when we recorded this; whilst I reckon I'm a pretty fair slide player, and can handle standard guitar duties (that is me on Stones in My Passway) reasonably well, I'm not frightened to use real talent when they'll let me.....means I can spend more time listening when I'm playing, if you see what I mean. I'm not sure what's become of Wayne, last time I saw him (quite a while, now) he was headed off to Europe, but I can't find him by googling and I'm reluctant to phone his parents - he's a pretty frail lad, and if something bad has happened, I don't want to add to their woes...guess I'll do it anyway now I'm finding him fans in the big wide world. And thanks for the enthusiasm, Mr Z

Damn, Shaky... this is SWEET.

It even sounded good in my cheap headset. I'll give it a real listen later.

Hats off to you and the crew on this one. ;)

I too am from Saudi Alberta, somewhat south of you though lol. I found your page quite by chance and am very glad I did. Some really fine Blues here. I hope you'll be posting more. I favored this one especially because it is an original of yours. I hope I'm right about that. I really dig the RJ you have done as well. I am a fan. If you're giggin in the neighborhood let me know I'll come and take in a show.
