Description:
This one is dedicated to the ex, Miss D......Love's a bitch

Lyrics:
Stones In My Passway

Robert Johnson (p.d)

1
Stones in my passway, and my road seem dark as night
Stones in my passway, and my road seem dark as night
Pains in my heart have taken my appetites

2
My enemies have overtaken me, they have found ol’ Shaky at last
My enemies have overtaken me, they have found ol’ Shaky at last
One things for damn sure, they have strewn stones all in my path

3
Try to take my life, all my loving too
You laid this passway for me, mama, what are you trying to do
I’m crying babe, please let us be friends
Hear me howling in your passway, mama, open your door and let me in

4
Hey, Mr Highwayman, please don’t block my road
Hey, Mr Highwayman, please don’t block my road
I’m riding a cold one hundred, I’m booked and I’m bound to go

..this IS the blues.
Sounds good 'n loud.
Like many of the dives I've known...my favorite places to play. Nice 'n loose.
What's the amp/guitar you're using here?
Great voice/great sound.
Fine stuff, Shaky.

You can feel the pain in that opening guitar riff!

Great song!

Thanx everyone &mdash 04/05/07 - 07:24:20 PM
Godin LGSAX (at that time, this was the only one they made left-handed; I could do without the acoustic/synth stuff, and actually prefer a rosewood fingerboard to ebony, but it is a lovely guitar), Marshall BB2 fuzzbox and a Fender Blues Junior fitted with a Celestion Greenback speaker

Cheers, Shaky

Ledeb for actually reading.
Thankyou all again. And it was great fun to have a song in the charts for a week and all that stuff, too.

we do &mdash 04/21/07 - 08:55:30 AM
approach the blues from different directions, I think, Shakey. But there is certainly common ground between us....and i believe we the same passion for this music.

this is a great track...VERY aggresive and entertaining. I also feel the total pain in the guitar playing......you DO feel better after, huh?

Great recorded sound here...very well did, my man!

Of course, as someone who has the nerve to post one of these dull old songs, you really deserve the 4's...not. It amazes me how people find it hard to give blues artists high grades on originality or creativity...you know the mentality...it is blues, it takes no skill, imagination, or thought....ah well.

Lovin yer stuff man.....BTW...I am running the POD into an ancient Ampeg REVERBROCKET....believe me..it moves air!

best regards

z

It's da blooze &mdash 04/22/07 - 07:08:27 PM
Is that the one with the 7591s? I used the Gibson same thing for a while. Nice amp.
Different approaches, yes. Different pools we grew in, but the beauty of the blues is how easy it makes musical communication. And those that don't get it? we just steal all their women and call it quits.

Cheers, Shaky

The 4s? &mdash 04/22/07 - 07:20:53 PM
I've a feeling they were personal; two (apparently) people went to the 4 songs where a low score would make a noticeable difference, and did so. On the same day, no comment, etc. Doesn't matter, they were too late anyway. And what do you expect from people who lure young goats into a life of sin and crack cocaine? (as long as he/she/they choose to remain anonymous, I can at least paint them in their true colours without fear of a lawsuit)

Cheers, Shaky
