Keywords:
Nocturne (5)
Description:
I've had a lot of fun playing piano this weekend. One of the advantages of not having professional training in music is that if you don't know the rules, you don't know you are braking them! This is a melody from the heart and has a familiar tune that I may have heard from many different pieces, but I am not sure. Let me know what you think.
The evening picture was taken in Huivulai Island in Sonora, Mexico.

Lyrics:
none

Hardware:
Yamaha CVP-98, MacBook, Midi Uno

I enjoyed it immensely! &mdash 04/01/07 - 10:37:06 AM
It has a childlike quality to it, in that it reminded me -- in places -- of a child's lullaby. Very sweet and warm.

God bless,

Rick

A little music for the night... &mdash 04/01/07 - 01:53:48 PM
There is a nice german word for such little masterpieces: We call such things "Kleinod"... if I ask my language tool, it says "gem" or "nugget" or "treasure" but none of this match at all. A "Kleinod" is something, that has not to be very expensive or huge or tremendous. It's a little piece of pure "wonderful to have" and has a piece of "self giving sense" in it and it stands above any criticism, because it is, like it is. Hard to explain in my poor english words...
Anyway, I love your melody! As you, I've heard similar tunes earlier, but this is a "Kleinod" really!

As I can hear, you have had nice weekend...
Thanks for sharing!

Greetings!

Bernd

Saw your comment in one of ktb's pieces. He has great respect for you. I followed up and I can now see why.

Kudos, sir. Wonderful playing and composition.

Numero Uno &mdash 05/06/07 - 11:03:21 PM
Enrique, I hope there is a Numero Secundo, Tertia, etc.. This is just a lovely little number with many little variations that are, each in its own way, unique and special... There aren't many of us writing piano music here. I am glad you are one of them. ... And don't put down your skill. It is quite wonderful. I loved this little piece.
Peace.
Paul

Hi Paul! &mdash 05/08/07 - 01:19:41 AM
coming from an acomplished pianist and composer like you, your comments are very much appreciated. It is my intention to come up with other Nocturnes, but instead of Secundo, I thought Dos, Tres, etc is more unusual and kind of funny too...let me know what you think of my Numero Dos at

Thank you again!

How odd that this is the first piece of your music that I listened to. I am not a trained Piano player either (guitar, self taught, piano, ouch). This is delightful and well performed. I am going to treat myself to some of your other lovelies.
Very nicely done,
Stephen
