sad (132)classical (384)oboe (21)cello (45)piano (620)
Description:
My weekend was not as fine as Enrique's was... (http://www.macjams.com/song/30488)

My e-piano is out of order (C1 key does not release...) and from time to time, I realize, that I live seperated from my wife, which had to fall in love with my, he of all people, best friend...
So I took the emotional piano loop from garageband and played with the built in possibilities some cello and oboe tunes on it. It may be simple, but it comes directly from my soul. Don't worry... Enrique's nice nocturne turned my mood, so I am laughing about myself again...;-)

Hi Bernd! &mdash 04/01/07 - 08:04:57 PM
beautiful melody! The dynamics in the piano are nicely done. I see you are more brave than me. I tried a couple of melodies with other onstruments, but could never make other instruments (especially strings) come out with the right sound. By the way, now your piano is dying, have you decided which one you'll be buying next?

Yes, that's a problem! &mdash 04/02/07 - 05:02:52 AM
It is hard to play a cello or a violin on a keyboard, because it is not the way it's played...

I am trying to simulate this, but, for example, letting the oboe player take breath at he right moments is not so easy...

My birthday is on april, 18th.. and I think I will buy a Yamaha CLP 240 for this date, but there are some other options... It is a question of money...

Thank you for listening and your comment!

Greetings,

Bernd

haunting & &mdash 04/04/07 - 04:12:02 PM
wonderful track. The lead and harmony parts were deliciously mixed. You do indeed, create a yearning landscape with your voicings. Very cool.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving such a warm comment.
There are only three voices on the track, and I am very happy, not only that I was able to express my feelings for myself, but also that other human beings find something of what I wanted to say in this little tune.

Greetings!

I love it. &mdash 04/06/07 - 09:10:13 PM
I love it when someone can take a GB loop and create beautiful music from it. This is haunting and beautiful in many ways. Thank you for sharing.

God bless,

Rick

Often some people think, that it is no good craftmanship to use preproduced loops, but for me, this loops are some kind of raw material, which wants to be discovered, put in shape, smoothed ...
Isn't it great, what a lot of possibilities this feature gave to use?

Thanks for listening and your kind comment!

God bless you, too!

Happy easter!

A sad tune.. &mdash 04/23/07 - 04:03:01 PM
Now I"M sad...This is such a heart-wrenching track and you draw just about as much pathos as possible out of your conception. The trail-off of piano at the end is the perfect conclusion. Very striking performance and idea that hangs together from start to finish. Glad I listened.
Peace.

nice piece &mdash 05/13/07 - 01:36:10 AM
It is challenging to get the articulation and dynamics of the winds and strings. It takes so long to adj volume or attack on each note and phrase; I'm still trying to find a way for further realism.

For this piece, I would work on the mix a little more... try a little more dynamics with the oboe (using the volume track for the individual part, and add a touch more reverb--it's especially nice on the oboe.

I agree with Enrique that the solo piano makes a nice ending.

For your appreciated hint for the mix!

You're right, the oboe is to flat in volume... Thanks for listening and your kind comment!
