Description:
A friend of mine and I had a conversation the other day about the Roman numeral system and how it isn't as efficient as it could be. The example we ended up with was 39, where it is rendered as XXXIX (thirty plus one less than ten). I suggested that a more efficient way of doing it would be to go XIL (eleven less than fifty).

Eventually he said "You're going to write a song and name it about this, aren't you?"

Yes, yes I am.

The name is CXIL, not simply XIL, because I decided to make the song at 139 BPM. In improper yet more efficient Roman, it transates to 139 (one hundred plus eleven less than fifty).

Composed and laid out in just about no time at all.

eMac G4, 1.25 Ghz, 1024 MB RAM, Sony MDR-7509 headphones, M-Audio Keystation 49e

This is good. Its just a shame I only discovered it now.

I have often thought that exact same thing about the Roman Numeral system. But hey, we got real numbers. I'm happy.
