The Entity

Description
The usual weapons of mass distruction: Guitar (with Amplitube) and vocals through a mini mixer, sliced and diced drum loops (5 or 6 maybe) with drum accents layed over (kick, snare, crash, ride, and a new tom). Synth and Bass Synth were done using a new technique from experimenting.

The lyrics are a poetic tale of actual events that occured to me and some friends of mine. If you're curious, I'll post them.

Vocals
need to be cleared up a bit; they are nearly unintelligible
(and I'm not a lyrics guy); more upfront, less effects,
maybe? This song has a touch of Nine Inch Nails in it,
which I think is a good thing, because it's not like
anyone's going to confuse you with them. Creative
writing, though it might be a tad inaccessible for a lot of
people (not unlike NIN). Very original offering!

Lyrics
Thanks for the comments.

The Entity

A cloud blackened sky
Shadows fool the eye
How could we've know

Searching for a ghost
We should have turned away

So we walked through the gateway
And passed the stones
Anxious, cold

Who knew the entity would shake our souls on sight
My skin was crawling and my chest was tight
Evil was there that cold night

A dark presence here
A young child fears
Her name engraved

Held there by a wraith
We should have turned away

So we walked through the graveyard
And read the stones
Feeling, watched

Forced through the pathway I was an unwelcomed guest
Unseen but present, no air left my chest
Evil reaching from beyond

I can feel it
It surrounds me
Passes through me
Whispers to me

Skin is crawling
Shadows calling
The vail is falling

Grass is parting
Right before me
Do my feet touch
The ground beneath me
Forced through the gateway
Back to safety

The mystery of what surrounded that cold night
The memory and terror stayed with me for life
The entity who tormented that old gravesite

---
Don't expect a pop song from me.

ACDC
well, i like the beats a lot. cool guitar too. almost like the
beginning of a Prince song in a werid way... Did you speed
up your voice with anything? Cool effects/cool song. Very
dark. Could use a little more time in the production/
mixing, but this is heading in the totally-right direction.

kindly kind,
mister fosod.

If
you went a little more atonal with your vocal, you'd go in that John Lydon direction, which I think would be cool since you tell a story...almost give it a more narrative, preacher-like approach? I thought the middle section was either too long, or perhaps has to come a little sooner. Sometimes when I come up against this dilemma, I find that I CAN eliminate almost half of the words and still achieve the result I am looking for lyrically. I'd also think about punctuating the ending a little by adding maybe a few lower unison bass notes... I WOULD like to see the lyrics! I am intrigued by "true stories."---M
