This is a small journey through my mind. Likes and dislikes with an added bit of nostalgia or should that be neuralgia?

Disparate flavours that bring to mind 'One persons meat is another persons poison'.

Drink with care......

This nice piece inspires me for my "areas" album. Nice guitar, warm synthesizer and in particular the middle part is smooth and chilling.

Thank you for sharing!

Greetings,

Bernd

All the sounds are soft synths so the 'guitar sound' has passed the test, in my opinion. I've been searching for a good electric guitar sound for two or three months.

I've a good deal more sonic textures to put together for other mixes, so stay tuned.

The ice-cream is optional though.

Paul.

Thanks for stopping by ML..... &mdash 04/09/07 - 09:33:21 AM
My idea was to put together some contrasting sounds to try and show where I am as far as one part of my musical ideas is concerned whilst also trying to paint an audio picture of one part of my mind, using my current sound canvas as my back drop.

There are plenty more sound washes to come, along with more classical-genre mixes. Hopefully along the way I can meld the two together for some of my classical compositions that are currently dormant in my mind.

Take care.

Paul.

...through your mind. The different moods you have "stitched" together here touch upon several emotions. A nice usage of software synths. This really should be expanded. Just as I was getting ready for a big ending... I realized that there is no ending. It is a continuous journey... to be continued?

The piece is one in a series of small, transitory pieces that put together different sound textures to try and give the listener some idea of an emotional/physical state I have passed through.

I'm trying to use synthed instruments to express what are many and varied emotions, amongst other things, not concrete experiences that I could use 'real' instruments for.

For instance how can I musically express 'being treated for an infection whilst actually having a malignant tumour that was killing me?' and many other physical and/or spiritual-type experiences, where there was nothing concrete to show but where some of those experiences changed the direction of my life completely.

I have many 'emotive snippits' of varying textures that fit many instants/periods of my life. Fitting them together in a meaningful (and musical) way is certainly a challenge. I balked at the idea of extending this first experimental piece (as I could have doubled its size with other textures) until I had a little feedback as to stopping the experiment dead or continuing.

I'll be uploading various 'mood pieces' as soon as I can meld the different sections together in a meaningful way. The lengths though will probably vary a good deal.

Many thanks for your comments once again.

Paul.

here is that one near the end that sounds like ice crumbling and falling down a glacier - beautiful!

Good description Richard.... &mdash 05/31/07 - 01:31:45 PM
For some reason, since Chrimbo, I've been into 'coldish' sounding sounds. They generally creep into my mixes at some point or 'take' in the process. Sometimes to appear on MJ's.

I guess it's because I enjoy crisp-edged music, clear and sharp but who really knows why! There'll be more of these type of soundscape devices over the next months.

Paul.
