Description:
This is a little song that I like to think is reminiscent of Brian Eno, although the wife thinks it sounds more like Depeche Mode. Whatever.
This is my first attempt at recording vocals directly into GB (as opposed to flying them in via Audacity or something else). i had some problems with this high screeching sound showing up on the vocal track. It would go away and then come back, but now it's gone. Hmmm.
Please let me know where i could improve on my mixing skills. I generally don't use that many tracks, so this was harder than I thought it would be. As I type this, I can hear a few spots that could be better mixed, but I'll see what you guys think. If anyone wants to try their hand at mixing this, that would be awesome.
The song is about how my wife was the victim of my insecurities back when we were still just dating and I was a flakey loser who was on tour all the time.

great mood. really liked this the hard pan of the vocal throws me off a bit though. more centered. maybe the piano could be more centered or panned 20 degrees. since those are the dominant tracks. just my thought but a really nice song! [ Reply to This ]

i was actually thinking the same thing. in GB the vocal looks centered, and i wasn't sitting right in the middle of my monitors while mixing. after hearing it posted, they seemed a little over to the side. i think i need to play with the vocal levels a bit as well. i'm glad you like, thanks for stopping by.
