tune, reminds me of a Cure song? I don't remember which. this belongs in art rock not low-fi, its produced to good.I do like your style and influences

you're right &mdash 04/08/07 - 11:54:03 PM
I was listening to the Cure at the time. the guitar sounds like anything on Pornography (it's the chorus effect). I always have had a week spot for the goth/glam/80's stuff. funny thing is: at the time I thought it was bubblegum for little girls, and it was my guilty pleasure.

thanks for stopping by to listen. actually, no radiohead influence at all. i was probably listening to Low, Unrest and the Flaming Lips at the time.

This is a little gem. What sets you apart is vocal style and melodic integrety. Also I like the way you mix every thing. while others are looking for high fidelity (ear piercing..... see article about how mastering is killing music) you offer up subtlety. I want to go back now and remix all my stuff. I learn alot by listening. Regards

for the kind words.it's funny that you point out mixing, since I feel that is my weakest area. i usually don't have the patience to sit down and get anything "perfect." generally just try and get the sounds that I want when recording, then do a quick mix (most would probably consider it a rough or scratch mix). as long as I can hear everything, and the sentiment is coming through, i'm cool with it. although I would love to get better at vocal mixing (sometimes my levels are all over the place).
