Description:
This tune really hits home, cause really one of my very, very fondest memories was when my mom and dad took me to Camp Meeker. It was one heck of a great time for a young kid about 11. Barn Dance, outdoor water skiing, open air theater, Negri's Italian dinner. Our little cabin. But what a crush I had on an 11 year old Joanne Faller. That I about as close I can get to spelling her name. She was indeed very pretty. What a thrill it was to take her to a the Barn Dance. Gad, puppy love. HOW STRONG IT IS!!!!
Hope you all can feel the roll of the car wheels a bit and maybe a memory of yourself as a kid takin a trip with your parents. . .
Hardware:
Just set up my tiny recording studio in the back of my wife and I's giant closet :) . Still trying to get all the kinks out.

Bill sings! &mdash 04/12/07 - 02:00:35 AM
Not quite as sweet as Betsy Bill, but it's great to hear your voice on this - your vocal works really well. I really enjoy hearing songs about these sorts of personal recollections - also probably my favourite songs to write too. The slide sounds really cool too - breaking away from the Tiler tradition here Bill (both slide and singing on the one track).
I still remember the pangs of puppy love really well - I also remember going to "Lake Lodge" as an 11 year old. Horse riding, kayaking, archery, barn dances etc - what a load of fun. Thanks for reminding me.
Cheers,

I think the hardest part of this tune was setting it up in my wife and my closet. I had to buy a 50ft vga chord for a monitor. I had to bring it down to the first floor where my G5 is. So somehow i have to get the chord from dangling in front of the wall of our living room :^) I had problems with my mouse cause it just does not move around the way it should. It is a remote wireless (Kensington). I put in new batteries. I might have to buy a new one. I hate when it so often freezes:(
I have a wireless bluetooth keyboard that works. But when I brought down the keyboard and mouse. It took a while to get them to work right again with the original monitor.
I know it is a strange situation but if any body has any tips to make this situation run smoother I would appreciate it. [ Reply to This ]

Gotta change my name... &mdash 04/14/07 - 12:49:46 PM
...too many misconceptions. Everyone thinks it's "guitapick", with the accent on the 2nd syllable. Like a Boston accent (sigh).
It's actually supposed to have the accent on the 1st syllable...as in: go and "git a pick".
Earthshattering news, I know.
So happy to hear that you were on the Clearwater. Those days were so sweet. The sloop was a beacon of hope for many of us.

A fun tune! &mdash 04/15/07 - 09:36:42 AM
Also a great tune Bill. But, then, all fun tunes are great tunes, aren't they?
God bless,
Rick
