Description:
The melody for this song came to me, and as I worked on it, the concept of faith and seperation began to grow in my mind.

We have so much in the world and yet are compelled to fight just to take from another. Our world leaders have beef with each other and would have us die for them. Many use faith as a premise for violence when the very men that they claim to follow would never do these unspeakable acts. Even those of us who do not use violence have nothing but spite for anyone of a different faith (sometimes the same faith in a different form).

Though I only took piano for a semester in college (and got a C) I felt compelled to try my hand at playing more complex cords. I guess it came out ok. Thanks for the comment and the listen.

Except for the cuts toward the end. Everything else came pretty simple. I did spend alot of time trying to make the sounds even. Im glad you liked it.

Intriguing choice of music and snippets, keeps my interest. I thought the high piano notes were a little too high and tinny and thin sounding, sorta detracted from the sweetness of the music. The transitions were sort of abrupt, but it didn't matter, you wove them in really well, not sure how you did that... cool.

I see what you mean. I wanted to do more with the piano than just the chords there and the lower octave kinda ran into the notes. Maybe I should consider using another instrument?

Very impressive mister 'logic - Now this is the type of work that makes me wonder..., 'why didn't this make it to the top of the charts'...

It seems that lots of technical know how went it to this, and certainly, it's just put together very well as a piece of music.

I spent the bulk of time working on the levels and some of the records used were kinda dusty. Even a few seconds of a break can take a while and even though I had a lot of ideas I had to choose the ones I felt went best.

Very interesting comment. I havent seen that movie in years, but the world is definately heading in that direction. The very nature of seperation can never be satisfied. Even those of us who have seperated continue to seperate from each other. this will continue until we become the reason for our own extinction.

Thats kinda how I look at all music. Its blury, but I can see it in its shape and color. When I close my eyes I can see the pictures kinda like a movie. I try to do that with everything I've made here (I think every artist tries that) to paint a picture with sound.

The chord progression keeps coming as a dissonant surprise, but after a while it started to sound natural. Sounds like you're experimenting with sounds and melodies, and I like where you're going with it! It started to freak me out a little eventually but I think in the way that you were going for. :-)

Something like that. I wanted to try to make a melody that would evoke some sort of emotion (goose bumps?). It started one way and the idea of faith and seperation helped mold it into the jam you hear now.

There are a lot of rough edges: the 'unrehearsed' piano, sharp soundbites and those uncomforting strings.... The fact that that the beats are so tight and smooth really gives this song an unsettling, almost sick, edge. This is music of the future; well done.

I have a love for music in general (in all its forms), yet I have not been trained in the art. The best thing about this is that by using GB I can at least make it sound like I know a little about what Im doing.
