U.S of us (by the hamlet machines)

Description
This is one of the songs we discarded for the Gnostic Disco "album" because we found it too uplifting. It's remixed on GB3 but since it's conceived as "duet" I'm looking for some female vocalist to take on the second part of the "dialogue" - it's now a "up major third" setting on my voice - before I post a definitive version.

Lyrics
- Why don’t we start our own country
- I’ll draw the map over your body
- We will declare our borders
- On crumpled bedsheets and covers

- We will play our national anthem
- it’s loud and called "Us against Them"
- We ‘ll rise high our colourful flag
- Patched from the riches of our rags

Whatever they’ll do
They ‘ll never separate us
We are a nation of two
We are the U.S of us

- Our mountains and plains spread as far
- As seen from a stolen car
- And we if we should be so lucky
- We may even have an access to the sea

- Our treasury’s someone’s checkbooks
- And our armies our good looks
- Nuclear fire under our seat
- There will never be no defeat

Whatever they’ll do
They ‘ll never separate us
We are a nation of two
We are the U.S of us

Back Up Vocals
Hey CJ,

I like the new treatment on the backup vocals. I think if we can convince estellie to help you out, this song will not be a B Side anymore.

So, whatta ya think estellie?

thanks
for the comment. The music was a bit too uplifting by our usual standards, so I tried to play the anthemic side but with a dark side to it. I like the idea it's empowering. thanks again

Hey CJ - this is a a lot more 'up' than recent stff, but a really nice little pop track - what happened, did you fall in love???

Great lyrics - I love poppy tunes with twisted lyrics!

Great stuff

rejection
Yes, it was a bit too "up" for "gnostic disco", even with the lyrical twist. I didn't fall in love before writing this, but I certainly share, for better or for worse, this somewhat exalted "us against them" stance.
