A gem &mdash 04/13/07 - 12:13:27 AM
this is a splendid display of musicianship. Wonderful combination of songwriting, vocals, and production. Kudos [ Reply to This ]
Love the sound on this &mdash 04/13/07 - 07:57:58 AM
Vocals have a distant quality but I'm assuming that's what you want. It works anyway. Reminds me a little of Chuck Prophet which is no bad thing.
Lovely playing and the feel was was wonderfully relaxed.
Splendid stuff :-)
Cheers

Ya, &mdash 04/13/07 - 04:00:43 PM
I sing in two different octaves. If I am careful, my higher voice seems more popular with younger people. My lower vocal seems to be less popular cause it is bit less smooth. Has more of a Johnny Cash feel. Though not as low or as trained.
I have to be careful with my higher register when doing tunes. Cause it has to be very catchy fingerpickings to attract attention. People seem to want more hep finger chordal work it seems. Straight simple chords with my high vocals is bit too common I guess for most ears as for as my voicing go in the high range.

Beautiful &mdash 04/13/07 - 06:12:39 PM
Sweet one Bill! Love the way you draw out those syllables when you sing. I've always thought you should sing more. On this one I would like less reverb and echo and have your voice more upfront in the mix. [ Reply to This ]
Nice silky sounds &mdash 04/13/07 - 07:49:24 PM
Reminds of some 70's rock ballad in the empty music halls of the soul, very nice tune, early morning fresh [ Reply to This ]
Hey, Bill! You can sing! &mdash 04/14/07 - 07:28:30 PM
And you've got RANGE....I love that swoop to the falsetto...
I'll be annoying and saying that once again, I'm finding that cymbal or high hat thing to be distracting... Probably good to play to, but I'm seriously distracted by it in the mix...
I love your lead work here...
I bet a good bass line would tie a lot of this together in the bottom range...

Impressed! &mdash 04/18/07 - 04:55:13 PM
Bill, I really like your voice on this. Not so crazy about the percussion though - this one would sound great with just bass and drums - full band approach. I think it could do quite nicely without the strings too. Time for a whole new career: "Bill Furner - singer/guitarist" :)
Very fine song.

It almost my karma &mdash 04/18/07 - 06:33:56 PM
to do as little percussion as I can. I have the original of this that I don't use it. But sometimes ya have to go for it even gofor is not it:) [ Reply to This ]

Your song took me back to when I was ten years old, with my best friend, laying on the grass looking at the clouds in the sky guessing what shapes the clouds made. You have a very sweet voice and your guitar playing is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing. [ Reply to This ]
