Description:
I have a friend whose mom is a dominatrix that runs a bed and breakfast in Jamaica (tax shelter or something). the place is really more like a run down ranch.anyways, this song is a close to 10 minute long, slow, simmering, psychedelic ode to wanting to be free in the warm waters of a place or a feeling like Jamaica. (think My Bloody Valentine and Gary Numan jamming on Kashmir). There is no guitar on this, but it's still heavy (pretty much a wall of sound). As I said, it's 10 minutes long, but goes through a few moods and I think the length is perfect. Live, we've played this for over a half an hour. Scott is playing drums, and Io is playing fuzz bass. Hardware:
mag G3,gretsch drums, fender jazz bass. ampeg bass combo, the guv'nor pedal (used to distort the bass), kurtzweiler MIDI piano (for the piano and organ sounds at the end of the song), roland JX3P synth (these are incredible), sm57 mics, fender twin (cranked up with the synth running through it), roland space echoSoftware:
pro-tools (again, don't know the program so it's used like an 8 track. just turned it on). |
