My Process Thanks Scott: I create my own drums using the rock kit in the ESX24 which I enhance with EQ etc. I really enjoy the odd meter concepts of Johm McLaughlin and Virgil Donati. So I've been experimenting with those concepts. From there I start by jamming along on piano or a keyboard pad in Logic until I get a progression and or melody line I like. Sometimes I try permutations of the melody until I get something fresh. From there it's just layering instruments by jamming along or writing it out in notation first and either playing it real time or step time. Guitars are usually added last. There is no real set way for me...I'm never out of ideas just time to realize them. Hope that helped you out. Frank Axtell Palm beach, FL USA Check out my latest song called Zevatron

The drums Thanks, I spend lots of time writing and working out the drum sequences. It is one of the most time consuming parts of writing this type of music. --- "study and show yourself approved" Check out my latest song called Zevatron

whew you always mange to impress and amaze. your instrument (esp synth) choices are always just right for the moment. sounds to me, you've been schooled in this for many years, but the technical theory stuff doesn't get in the way of making passionate music. simply some of the best fusion stuff on the site, hands down.
