Straight 8s here too Complete with cover art, I would swear this is an artifact from my youth. What a great feel, intimacy, energy, mix and audio concept. Time warp. You capture the best of the era perfectly. I really like the lazy diction, the style, but maybe more joy would make it sound even better, especially in the chorus. Excellent track. (I'd cut the seconds of silence at the beginning.) Check out my latest song called Forge A New Life (MJRF)

time warp Definitely 1972 era! You captured it perfectly. Nice tune, neat effects. Sgt. Pepper's Meets Elton John. Neat little rhythmic hooks. Vocals sound a bit constrained, delivery a bit "mannered", but nice harmonies and generally good tone quality. This is one of those songs which reminds people of other songs, but can't quite put your finger on it....which is a kinda neat thing! The ending was a bit soft; would have liked to hear more of the piano. Good listen! Check out my latest song called EPONYM

You nailed it Going by the picture I think you'll not be offended if I say that this sounds very sixties. Great song, and the arrangement (particularly the vocal parts) is very much in the spirit of that time. Just a few remarks: the piano in the beginning is a bit timid. The woops and hollers are fine (the Beatles did this many times) but he handclaps are anachronistic. The guitar solo is great, but the distorted guitar earlier is also of a later era. I'll pretend I didn't hear those synth strings. V. Check out my latest song called Tecmo Superbowl 2009 w/ Dead End (MJRF 2004)
