This is a departure from the established DFN style being a primarily improvised ambient track. We were looking to get that early 80's Cocteau Twins/Durutti Column feel on this one - ambient with a low fi edge! Hope you enjoy it...

Nice round sound! &mdash 04/18/07 - 01:45:00 AM
Now if I played fretless bass, I'd love to add something to this - it just screams out for some fretless noodling :) You really manage to get terrific tone on the Strat Steve, and Mysti's vocals sound so ......... well ............ mystical!
Nice!

Sweet! &mdash 04/20/07 - 02:15:45 AM
I don't think I've heard a song since "When Doves Cry" that sounded so great and full without a bassline - and I like it that way. This is really nice - it's music as ocean waves, cascading up onto a beach at sunrise. Beautiful!

Cheers everyone &mdash 04/21/07 - 05:52:24 AM
Thanks for listening in guys! Mysti and myself really enjoyed working on this track, its great fun cranking up the echo on everything after all!
This one was pretty much all improvisation, I laid down the initial drums and guitar tracks, then the one take solos (kinda ragged but I liked em hehe).
Mysti, as usual, managed to come up with a set of superlative improv vox very quickly - which I just had to weave in and out of the music.
Its fun to be a music weaver!

.. lovely. The vocals and guitar are just brilliant, fantastic dreamy ambience .. makes me only notice more the drums letting the side down (I'm no drum expert Steve but..) to me they are just toddling and the mix of the individual hits could be better for the song eg. bit more of the bass drum would suit this, kinda heart-beaty. Sounds a little like 'hit start on the drum machine' and here we go at the mo ..perhaps a bit more lyrical content/depth, although the title line is very appropriate for the ambient sound, other times lines are quite hard to make out, a duplicated track
with slightly less effects mixed in with what is might
help to bring out some clarity, as a suggestion.

Really, really lush overall - just my 2 kronor.
Great collab.
