Description
This is a song I recently wrote. I originally sat down to write an accoustic song after watching the Wilco documentary, "I am trying to Break your heart."
but,
Since I'm not Wilco...it turned into a kinda cheezy song...but the lyrics are written about my mother, who passed away in Feb. 2005...so that makes me happy.
I wish I was a better singer

Lyrics
By the time you left us here
the world was so unclear
and they tell me that you're better off
with no more pain and no more cough
And now Im missing you x 3
I guess I don't understand
about our lord and his master plan
to take a grandma from a boy
before she could buy him a toy
before she could buy him a toy
And now I'm missing you x3
Chorus:
I can't tell you why
but I feel your hand, holdin on to mine
I cant tell you why
but I see your smile, in my baby boy
I can't tell you why
but i feel your heart, beating next to mine
I can't tell you why
but I know that you're near, every day and night
Verse 2:
On the days I can't go on
You help me to feel strong
I just think about the times we had
the bitter pains and the laughs
and now I'm missing you x3
I wonder how to get by
every once in a while, I break down and cry
but then I wipe those tears away
pick up my guitar and I gently play
and now I'm missing you x3
Chorus
Organ solo
Chorus x2

The Infinites
..same for me. Sept 2005. She's now "a big star in the sky..."
I think your voice adds a sense of melancholy, as though the sadness is so much, it even hurts your vocal chords. I really dig the organ coming in when it does.
Funny thing is - I don't feel sad listening to this - it just makes me think about the good stuff!
Thanks for posting,
Jim
