Keywords:
Father (37)Jesus (85)praise (28)love (945)
Description:
Praise to The Father for sending His son Jesus.

Lyrics:
THANK YOU FATHER

He taught in the synagogues
And in the country hills,
And touched people with His power
To cleanse them of their ills.

But Pharisees and Sadducees
Stirred the people into a mob.
They did not know, they did not care,
He was the Son of God.

They beat Him and mocked Him
And tore His flesh apart.
Then hung Him on a cross
To appease their sinful hearts.

But God had other plans
To thwart the evil one.
This Lamb that was slaughtered,
Is God’s cherished Son.

Chorus

God raised Him from the dead,
The prophecy was true.
He conquered sin and death,
And Satan through and through.

He is risen and alive!
Eternal life is sure!
If we trust Jesus,
Our spirit will endure.

Chorus:
Thank you Father,
Praise the Lord,
We lift our hands up high.
Thank you Father,
Praise the Lord,
With grateful tears we cry.
Thank you Father,
Praise the Lord,
Great Almighty One.
Thank you Father,
Praise the Lord,
For giving us Your Son.

I haven't performed live in many, many years. Thanks for asking though.

If you want to hear a simulated "live" performance, check out my song "Footprints" - www.macjams.com/song/17341.

Hi Roxy &mdash 04/22/07 - 01:32:06 PM
Thanks so much. We'll have to do a retake on this when the scratchies go away. Then I can post a version with your beautiful voice added. That's what's been missing all along. :-))

God bless you,

Rick

Count me in &mdash 04/22/07 - 01:50:46 PM
with those who will know him and walk with him in these days... I hope to know him better... Rick you remind me of the man who took me in all those years ago... I was a broken x-druggy... he provided a time for me to re-enter this life... a second chance... he used to sit with his guitar and sing songs much like this... Russ Underwood... he passed a few years back... but as I sat and listened I closed my eyes and he was right here...you have a great voice... gentle and soothing..

I'll introduce you some day... what a day!

Me too! &mdash 04/22/07 - 05:11:42 PM
Thank you Scott. I too pray every day to know God better. And I look forward to meeting you and Russ in the new world. What a day that'll be, indeed! :-))

Russ did a wonderful thing for you, and I consider it high praise to be compared to him. I pass it on to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, because without Him all of us would be doomed.

God bless,

Rick

Wonderful &mdash 04/28/07 - 03:45:02 PM
Ops i am really late here. Have a hard time keeping up.

You know I've been listening to the song many many times before you posted. And again I am so sorry I couldn't gather the concentration to lay a guitar track for you.

But at the same time I don't think there's much missing here. The strength here is the composition, your devotion and your personal compassionate voice. That is so enough for my soul. Though I know the world wants music with glimmering surface. But personally, that doesn't matter much to me. The power comes from the life from within. And this song has that!.

And .. count me in for the meeting in the new world. That will be a day, when I will meet you people!

PS. A 2.33 MHZ MacBook Pro .. that must be a wonder to work with..

Hi Curry, &mdash 04/29/07 - 08:22:27 AM
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Thank you very much for all the time you spent trying to lay a track to this piece in the midst of your personal problems. You have a true heart of the servant.

The MacBook Pro is just another tool; nothing more special than that. I bought it because my other computer was dying from old age, and I needed something more portable. :-)

God bless,
Rick

Hi Rick &mdash 05/15/07 - 09:57:40 PM
Thought I left a comment before; oops. This song has a great chorus and had me harmonizing at home (well, trying anyways). As usual, I just love your syle. Seems to me this would be good at worship ( a real pleasure to sing) and useful for Sunday school. I can imagine a tenor/alto harmony just knockin the heck out of this one.

Hi Joe, &mdash 05/17/07 - 08:08:00 AM
Great to hear from you brother. Thank you for the kind words and your appreciation. This song, and others God has given me, might someday be sung in worship services, but that is up to Him. :-)

God bless,

Rick

Thank You... &mdash 05/20/07 - 07:12:18 PM
Rick. ... This is a beautifully performed and simply unadorned composition that is so true to the folk tradition. By keeping your accompaniment contained and your vocals so natural (including the chorus harmony that is so very sweet), you have created a message song that speaks with sincerity, with honesty, and with your own firm beliefs. The result is a song that communicates and does so compellingly. I can't imagine anyone not being moved by your words, your performance, your heart.

Thank you Paul. &mdash 05/22/07 - 09:21:58 AM
I tell you the truth --the words, the music, the performance, all come from my Lord Jesus Christ, my savior and the creator of heaven and earth. I thank Him for using me to communicate His love to you and others at MacJams. Open your heart and life to Him and you will know what I mean.

God bless,

Rick

Sounds great, Rick &mdash 08/25/07 - 03:06:01 PM
Rick, this track is powerful in its simplicity. Not overly flashy, but it doesn't need to be. Reminds me a bit of early Phil Keaggy or Honeytree.

And yes, amen, praise the Lord for giving us His Son.

Thank you John. I enjoyed Phil and Honeytree in their day also. Perhaps some of their style wore off on me?

Praise the Lord always!

BTW, I greatly enjoyed your latest jazz collab, mixing trumpet with piano.

God bless,

Rick
