Description

mbehar sent me a lovely jazz piano track and I had a great time finding a melody (it was easy with such great material to work with) and writing some lyrics. I decided to twist the old cliché 'saving for a rainy day' and then gave it my belting best. We then asked iGStudio if he'd add some of his magic jazz sax. Here is the result; I hope you enjoy it!

Super slinky
Joanna, for someone who claims to have no ambition beyond singing in your own living room you certainly sound like you belong up there on a spotlit stage in a glittery dress and being whistled at! But maybe that's the point ... you sing with such relish and confidence because you're doing it for its own sake and enjoying the moment.

You've clearly got some very talented collaborators who have given you the musical support to make your voice really shine. Much as I would have loved to hear your attempt at a faux-sax, having the real thing takes your music to a whole new level.

It's great to see you posting at MacJams again. It's been too long!

I don't know if I could think of a better tune that fits your style like a glov than this. This is TREAT !

Wowsers!
This is a sweet treat! I love technology, but nothing beats real instruments - this is the real deal. If I heard this while out on the town, my attention would be absolutely undivided - great vocals and lyrics, instant standard here! The sax is like honey, the bass cool and slinky, the piano is to DIE for! Tasty, tasty, tasty - the drums have a lot of steppin' to do, to keep up with the real vibe, but they fade into the background with such compelling performances on the soundstage. Love the good feeling all around, way to go you guys!

Joanna, I see you stompin' in the puddles with a big grin on your face! Wonderful piece of music, beautifully performed on piano/bass (MB!) and sax (IG!)... but Joanna's a great one for turning rainy days upside down with such creatively eloquent wordsmithing... and then to sing it so well. I wish you a lifetime of that kind of rainy day activity!
