Description
This is a first working of this song, I suppose it's about the detachment Elvis might have been feeling when things were falling apart for him.
Any advice on improving it would be gratefully appreciated.

Lyrics
The dirty sun is killing all the birds out on the trees,
Somebody told me
Air is pushing down on me
Sweat keeps breaking out I can't shake it off.
This living is an affliction
I can see what people say with just their eyes.
I'm falling out, out into space
Where is my silver cape
My blue suede shoes seem out of place.
Dr Nick should call today and help to chase this emptiness away for me
I recall one time when as a boy I thought the world was like a treasure chest.
Now my hands are shaking
I feel like something old thats going to break.
I'm falling out into deep space
I lost my golden crown
My blue suede shoes are a disgrace.
Have you ever felt that time keeps speeding up,
And leaves you without a reason
Have you ever held your newborn baby in your arms and cried.
I'm falling out, into deep space
Where is my golden crown
My blue suede shoes are a disgrace.
Somebody told me
Air is pushing down on me
Sweat keeps breaking out I can't shake it off.
This living is an affliction
I can see what people say with just their eyes.
I'm falling out, out into space
Where is my silver cape
My blue suede shoes seem out of place.

Scott Carmichael
is captured well here.. I don't think I would change anything about the song structure... I love the chord changes into "I'm falling out" it twists the knife in just the right way... I sat and sang this a few times with you... there might be a few places where I would massage the lyric... but there a few opporunities to go for the juggler in the melody... just to provide that extra emphasis... this is really a great song to sing... and as I'm going about my work here in the office, the song is staying with me...
