Description
This tune is something I would have to categorize as Goth... A dark sounding love song.. a tad morbid... very raw acoustic, emotional, sort of in your face drama (almost melodramatic) with some echo added from my old 80s film project OCwp

Lyrics
A longtime past since I saw you. Should have thought this clearly through, before seeing your face, hearing your voice. You never should have gone, We knew this would happen all along, You never should have gone, we knew this would happen all along. Hopeless romantics die so slow, One more lash before I go. Seeing your face, hearing your voice. You never should have gone. I knew this would happen all along. You never should have gone, I knew this would happen all along. /// Seeing your face, hearing your voice. Seeing your face, hearing your voice. \\\\\\\\\\\/// Bequeathed this heart that never ends, or taste your lips for love ascend. Seeing your face, hearing your voice again. You never should have gone ! I knew this would happen all along, You never should have gone !!! We knew this would happen all along. Should I go before nightfall, I will remember, I will recall... seeing your face, hearing your voice. Seeing your face, hearing your voice. You never should have gone, I knew this would happen all along, Oh, you never should have gone, We knew this would happen all along. \\\ /// seeing your face, hearing your voice. seeing your face, hearing your voice. seeing your face, hearing your voice. Seeing your face, hearing your voice!!! \\\\//// A long time past since I saw you.

Seeing your face, hearing your voice
Hi, G,
You wrote/write from your heart.
Your line: "you never should have gone"
People leave.
Often, they don't give something a chance. Do you think that people are too selfish and would rather be alone than live for and with another?
Thanks for sharing. I'm glad I heard your voice.
Be well.
Char

Hi Char
.. I don't think everyone is selfish and want to live alone... though your question deserves more contemplation.... it is true that the whole of mankind has inherited a propensity toward self-centeredness... evidence of our isolation from God.. for those who follow the spiritual stuff... This song was written such a long while back... it is kind of interesting how songs really do sort of capture things.. as if suspended in a moment in time... something about relics caught in amber or something? Thanks Char for your kindness and comments.

What is God?
I always am grateful when you return a note. About songs, poetry, etc. capturing a moment as a fossil is trapped in amber: You're familiar with, "the more things change, the more they stay the same." Because of something said to me, yesterday, I began singing the song, "Watch What Happens." I hadn't thought I even knew those lyrics.
"Cold, no, I don't believe your heart is cold." It is a very simple lyric.
I sang the whole thing. Somewhere I had sheltered those words and somehow they surfaced to comfort me.
In addition to losing our connection with God who lives outside and yet inside of ourselves, we, many of us, have no connection with each other. A little time and a little understanding and a lot of patience are all that are needed to ease the fear born from being cast out of what could have been heaven.
I must browse around some more music. I appreciate you.
:)

Should have thought this clearly through...
sigh...I love that opening to the story of this song. You have a gorgeous voice. I love the intensity of this - especially since you were able to create such a mood with just you and your guitar. Incredible. Awesome lyrics. Great performance. So glad I found this!
