You've written the soundtrack for glacier watching everywhere. Wonderfully chilled ambient piece. Delicate and nuanced.
ic42
a soundtrack of music is notes moving through time. it is a matter of scales. a glacier is ice moving through time. it is a matter of scale. it is pleasing to know that this music is the right size. thank you. 0x0

sounding. way into this. you like glaciers, i like space. they're both frozen.
ic42
space. a galaxy is much like a glacier. at an astronomical scale. perhaps the subsequent piece shall describe a nebula. your pleasure is greatly appreciated. 0x0

One sound after another just breezes by. Very nice.
Eh, what do you mean "subroutines"? Was this written in Csound or so?
ic42
it is good that it feels contiguous. it was work to avoid disconnected disjoint changes in this piece. other pieces are partly or completely composed by software. but this piece was not. it was hand-written, then stretched. csound was installed a year ago. but it was never touched or learned. csound is powerful software to learn, but it will take time. it is on the list, soon. have you experienced csound? is it useful for algorithmic experimentation? it is time to revisit it. 0x0

Ok, that makes sense. I thought the sounds had an additive quality, but stretching probably does that.
No, I've never used Csound. I've decided that life is too short to explore everything that sounds interesting. I can't even bring myself to learning Reaktor and just putting my own synth together, let alone coding it from the ground up as you would do in Csound or Max/MSP.
Victor.
a slow, icy, glacial quality to it. very etherial. really i nice, soothing, track.
ic42
it is occasionally refreshing to see the world through slower eyes. it is refreshing to receive your perspective on this work. thank you. 0x0

The quiet power and beauty is created to perfection, here. Fine work, sir.
ic42
the superlative is generous. the road to perfection seems glacially slow. it is worth the time? the walk will continue. the input from a great musician is appreciated deeply. thank you. 0x0

The elusive constant.
Always there for the plucking...sometimes we reach too far.
This piece paints the picture beautifully...
We walk side by side.
In other words: this rocks!!!

this is rather nice. Interesting to slow down a really nice chord progression and give it sparkly synths (reminds me a bit of my "Ember" piece). I would like to have heard a little more variation in some voicings, but I see where you're going... there really is a sense of anticipation once the listener gets used to the chords, waiting for them to come back around. Having it slowed down like that is a cute idea, and its a pretty piece to. "Cool"! Welcome to Macjams!

it is useful feedback. gradual change in synthesizer timbre is intriguing. currently there is just accretion of new voices over time. a glacier adds slowly to itself as it moves. new ideas are appreciated. a new glacier may need to be formed. 0x0

wow - great imagery, like reading a good book that sets you right in the middle of the story, this one put me right on the glacier. Masterfully done in my humble opinion : )
ic42
glaciers are large and slow. however, they are beautiful. it is exciting to know that this music conveys that beauty. this is a helpful guiding comment. thank you. 0x0

Well, I grew up close to the Polar circle and this is what Aurora borealis sounds like. Great stuff, reminds me of the old Jarre.

it would be a dream to view the Aurora Borealis. to have this music ignite the memory is a great pleasure. thank you. 0x0

wow, thats all I can say, such wonderfull music coming out from independent sorces. yours is no exception, its up there, beautiful.

it is a small number of words, but it is helpful and appreciated. it is a good time to hear such words. they are needed. thank you. 0x0

i see cold crystals (maybe ice crystals)
this has a wonderful, moody, ethereal quality to it. there are so many great visual this could be used as a backdrop for.
great mood here. great tune
ic42
crystalline nature of water. frozen fluid. still moving. there are many images that cycle. if the music incites similar imagery for you, the exercise is worthwhile. your descriptive imagery is a delight. thank you. 0x0

Like the sounds and it does have a frosty feel to itt. It seems like the synth really can shine with making winter type sounds and you do it really nice here.
ic42
the key is choosing an appropriate instrument to convey a mood. you chose your instrument very well. your guitar conveys rich warmth. this mood was cold and frosty. you heard it. it was a success. thank you. 0x0

is what comes to mind with it icy magic singing thru the icy stalagtites
i guess to most of us a glacial land scape could well be in another dimension...which is the other feeling this mood evokes for me out far on the universe traveeling through lost galaxies with faded sun
I can feel the aurora borealis as mentioned by algabatz

We have much to learn that we already know!
ic42
it is a delight to read of such images being evoked. for personal reasons however, the snow queen's palace was escaped from, but her power still poisons the mind. there are likely still traces of anguish and regret in this music. other images, moving forward, are uplifting. galaxies and slow birth of living stars. discovering celestial mysteries. it is all here. you have found it. a smile is born. thank you. 0x0

that synth is awesome. great ride.
ic42
it is a slow ride. it is important to slow down and smell the ice crystals, before they all melt. the time you took to immerse yourself in the floe is appreciated deeply. 0x0

This is quite pretty. I don't get ambient music- hey, I don't even get much of jazz, maybe because i need form. Anyway, this is structured enough for me to like a lot! This song reminds me of one of Drak's sonbgs, as he has already mentioned. It does evoke images of a giant, relentlless, yet interminably slow moving glacier. Well done! :-)
ic42
it is the genesis of art. it is the genesis of life and the universe. music without perceived form is chaotic noise. it is pleasurable to know that you sense structure and form here. some things are so large or small, so fast or slow, that humans cannot detect structure there. it is curious. your music is now discovered. your singing is an intoxication. it is a smile captured in song. thank you. hakucho. 0x0

Well, thank you! :-) I'll have to try an ambient piece, just to see if I can. :-)

I really like this piece, for it really touched my soul, thus, leaving me wanting! This is beautiful work in all it's many facets. Very clean production as well. Thank you for commenting on BT because it has led me to your wondrous musical works!

macjams is like a glacier. it is immense, composed of myriad tightly packed beautiful crystals. it is nearly impossible to examine each gem. it was a delight to find your gem. it is equally exciting that it caused you to find this. thank you for listening and describing your thoughts. 0x0

It should be longer. You capture the vastness and desolation of a glacier perfectly.
ic42
it is difficult to capture a glacier with a short attention span. however, this experiment has been rather popular. it is worth more attention. i will find some more. thank you for listening and suggesting more ice. it is a battle against global warming. 0x0

for something that does move, but imperceptibly. You know it is coming but you think you have time to get out of the way. I like the tinkling sounds that brighten this. Thanks.
ic42
it was an attempt to slow time for the listener. it is nice of you to listen and comment. perhaps global warming will melt interest in this music. perhaps it is time to write about another slowly encroaching natural effect. it is time for desert music. thank you for a nice comment. i always reciprocate. however, there is no music from you yet. i will wait. 0x0

i've been enjoying Spring too much to fully appreciate the chill of this right now. excellent sound choices. i love the staticy underlay - there is a movement in it that never stops but is almost un-noticable. i also really enjoyed the slight pitch-bending. this brought to mind walking slowly through frozen caves, surrounded by naturally formed ice sculptures and icicles, sparkling in the light of my torch as i pass by, a multitude of reflections and fleeting impressions.
ic42
there is much work to create subtle enjoyment. many ideas are hidden in the icy folds of the music. a few will listen carefully. some will hear the music inside the music. you listen carefully. it is a joy to work on all the layers, when a listener discovers them. thank you for sharing your images in return. 0x0
