Description:
treated myself to a new guitar a few weeks back (Taylor acoustic-electric) and this little 2.4 minute ditty is the first song I've composed and recorded using it. A bit rough round the edges but I thought I'd post it as is, without trying to over-elaborate with drums, bass etc.

Thanks for listening
cheers
Phil

Lyrics:
When you were a little child
And all that passed before your eyes would shine
To wake each day enchanted by your world
Surrounded and astounded by it all

But fate can be as fickle as a breeze
A kick inside to bring you to your knees
I pray someday that light will shine again
As you cast aside those demons and your pain

Why did we wait so long?
To late to notice anything was wrong

Your lust for life - it slowly ebbed away
Replaced by introspection day by day
It hurts to know what you’ve had to endure
But I’ll never leave your side you can be sure

Why did you wait so long?
We didn’t notice anything was wrong

Some get but one chance - to find their way
While others live to fight another day
Some spend their days entrapped behind bars
When they could reach for the sky to touch the stars

Where do we go from here?
Just one life to lead- so show no fear

Very nice &mdash 04/30/07 - 09:14:21 PM
The new guitar sounds great! I think the tune works great with just the guitar and voice. A very nice melody and I love the bitetrsweet lyrics. Great all around song.

Love the intimate sound, the bright guitar, clear vocals, well-mixed backing. So sweet and pleasant, light and nice, yet talks about tough things... it speaks to forging on past fears just by its presentation. Really nice.
