Description:
a jammie thing that i put together over the last couple of months. I had two guitar tracks and directions in mind when i recorded it originally..roy buchanan's roy's blooze groove, and hendrix's voodoo chile groove...today, when i picked it up and added slide...it sounded a little like duane's sound in there too. So, I recalled that at one point, scott had played a little harp over this...he didnt like it much i dont think, so we never did anything further...but i went back and grabbed some of the chords he played, and then to me it sounded like butterfield was there too...and i thought maybe when i get to heaven...there they will be, waiting for me...jimi, roy, duane and butter...

explain again why we are all so afraid to die?

anyway, i hope this helps people feel a little better..get us back to the music and all that happy stuff.

slinky great guitars Z... your a guitar players player.... soulful slide with real good intonation... you arrange the guitars very well... even though you played all the parts it sounds like a stage of players who are all LISTENING to each other... great parts that don't step on each other...

one small nit... you might need to get out your amps... the pod has a sonic thumbprint... that can work on 1 guitar ini a mix... but when you play several, that seems to multiply that pod residue...can't quite put my finger on it... but I recognise the sound.. I know the pod is conveniant.. but you have some great amps...

I will save my vote until after your bombing:)

after the bombs....good idea....i'm sure they'll be coming...that's why i posted this anyway...it's not a serious composition or anything, just an excuse to blow a bit...so BOMB AWAY!...i could care less. This was FUN to do.

To feel myself making progress with the slide is so exciting for me. I have loved nice sultry slide playing all my life, but I have never been able to do it.

I realized I really wanted some acoustic slide on my acoustic cd, and i don't know anyone who I would ask to do that for me, so I decided to learn a little, just to get the sound in there. I set up the old Gibson just for slide, and bingo...having the guitar set for slide is the key for me....anyway, got the strat back from EJH, and next thing i knew......mwahhhhhh

Blues yes, normal recipe not. You gettin some mighty fine overtones here. The head follows its own way. Sometimes a little outside, and thats what I like. Lots of subtle little chirps and snippets from all the guitars but played in such a way that it blends super fine. You be jammin

Some great Hendrixy grooves and twiddles you've got going here! And finished off with a perfect *boink* at the end. Lovely!

Guitar solo good, two guitars solos double plus good! &mdash 04/30/07 - 02:37:10 PM
That's a brilliant intro with the two guitars going somewhat in the same direction but still independent. Oh wait, there is a #3. Somehow the center guitar is the furthest back in the mix. Not that it bothers me.

Nice groove overall.

OK, so you can play a bit ;) &mdash 05/01/07 - 05:34:41 PM
Very tasty playing Fran - of course! - but the standout for me is the great sound you've got from your production. Bass and drums sound great also. For me, I'd crank up the bass a notch (but I would say that wouldn't I!) - sheer class my friend!
Peace,
Neil

HAHAHAH &mdash 05/04/07 - 08:26:54 AM
I always make a disk and go for a spin to check a mix, talknrok...and I think this might be the best driving music I have ever made....altho KEY LIME is a road song too.

I am sure we have all had the spectacular experience of driving thru some remakable scenery, and have the music loud, and PERFECT for the moment...one of life's sweet moments I think...

thanks!!!

Very Nice &mdash 05/05/07 - 11:30:55 AM
I really enjoyed listening to this. It has a satisfying feel to it. I like the way it sounds like it is stepping forward but leaves one foot in the past. I would like to say it has a "transitional" feel to it.
