Nice song
I like this. Your vocal is excellent, although a bit buried in the mix at times, and clipping at other times. I'm not sure that the song would benefit from too much mucking around. The guitar, vocal straightforward approach seems to work. Thanks for sharing. Peace.

good point
when I recorded it (as with most of these acoustic numbers) a number of years back I was thinking it was to just document it so I wouldn't forget about it.. I realize everyone on macJams is pretty much use to hearing well polished pieces.. I sort of wanted to just get these out even in crude attire.. as I am aging rather rapidly over here... the plan was at first intended for the stage piece.. and since I normally think in terms of progressive rock.. that would be the preferred follow through. thanks for stopping by and for the comment.

Diamond In The Rough
I don't sweat the techno issues of older tapes; I have 'em too. Lots of older stuff that sounded all right then, but now... (ahem)

This has a real powerful feel, and your voice sounded great. Any plans to do an updated version? It would work as a guitar-only piece, but it might also really soar with a progressive-rock instrumentation. Of course, the line between "mucking about" (thanks, Dajama!) and "filling out" could be a tricky one.

Anyway... love the tune.

thanks
I appreciate your comment.. if I had time (as if I haven't had years already) it would have more instruments and be a progressive rock piece.. some of my heaviest influences were Yes and Dixie Dreggs.. Something about the way they both attempt to build intense climactic endings... sometimes with a twist.. but my music (largely) was intended for that, Thanks too about the compliment for vocals.. I am comfortable in that range though lower ranges are increasing in popularity.. In the future I hope to place a song or two in a lower vocal range on here to contrast.. maybe adapt to the present? I dunno...
thanks again!

I like it -- just wish I could hear that beautiful voice a little more over the music. You are very talented!

thanks LS
but you have to hang in there in this song as the vocals get louder as the song goes on.. part of the dynamic I had in mind for it...
