This is great fun too... you are covering a "number of areas" here, each one is interesting by itself. This one is fun too... I liked the way you had the first section come slowly to a halt in preparation for diving into the fast-paced middle section. I usually do not like "fade-out" endings, and I wanted to hear a final coda on this piece. But again, the instrument sounds were fun here. I was worried that the constant drumming in the middle part was going to get tiresome, but you kept it at the right length. The solo gliding synth was fun, made me smile for some reason... like watching a stunt-kite dipping and soaring quickly in the bright blue sky. I like to listen to you hopping around in different areas, and it sounds like you are enjoying it too... keep it up!

Areas &mdash 05/01/07 - 10:51:20 AM
Areas will make a landscape...

I don't know, how much areas I will try to create, but the goal is that in the end it will become a journey, where you have to go , sneak or jump from one area to another...

Thanks for listening and leaving a comment! Always appreciated, Drak!

Greetings,

Bernd

Another enjoyable piece of music.. &mdash 05/02/07 - 01:02:10 PM
This piece is very energetic and sometimes reminded me of a Japanese synth player called Isao Tomita. who's album 'Snowflakes are Dancing' is one of my all time favourites. It's Moog versions of some of Debussy's most well known piano pieces.

I can't wait for the next 'area'.

Take care.

Paul.

I love Isao Tomita, too, I am honored by your comparison!

And I am searching for a record: His
wonderful version of "Pictures at an Exhibition".

I've heard it the first time at school (Was a marvellous music teacher, BTW) and loved it immediately, but I think this record never has been released on CD, I am still searching, but found only a vinyl in a very bad shape so far...

Thanks for listening and leaving a comment.

Greetings!

This was one very good area! Again a lot is happening, the sections are well organized so to speak contrasting each other nicely. And second, yes, it does remind you of Tomita (and earlier this afternoon I listened to Kristyjo's Kitaro-sounding Silk Brocade, what a day!)

I think I did hear that version of Pictures at an exibition. I'll listen with my brother, he might have it somewhere in his unfathomable archives ;-) Have you heard Tangerine Dream's version of the same song? It is on iTunes Store on the album Turn of the Tides...

Thanks for your listening and your comment!

I never heard the Tangerine Dreams version. I will have a look at I-Tunes...

"Pictures at an Exhibiton" is perhaps the most covered classical music piece. I remember a great version form Emerson, Lake and Palmer, too (IIRC).

The original was written for piano by Mussorgsky and put into a wonderful orchestra piece by Ravel.

And Tomita follows the original, just changing the instruments. This record was my ignition spark to be interested in electronical music.

I f you find this record, please let me know!!!

Greetings,

Bernd
