Description:
Thanks to Estellie -And to Bob Dorsey Worldwide Management inc.- he is the new version of U.S of us, as the intended duet, and with a different, shorter mix. Her voice gives something angelic to the song that nicely contrasts with the somewhat dark theme of the song.
Lyrics:
- Why don’t we start our own country- I’ll draw the map over your body
- W e will declare our own borders
- On crumpled bedsheets and toen covers
- We’ll play our national anthem
- it’s loud called Us against Them
- We ‘ll rise high our colourful flag
- Patched from the riches of our rags
Whatever they’ll ever do
They ‘ll never separate us
We are nation of two
We are the U.S of us
- Our mountains and plains spread as far
- As seen from a stolen car
- And we if we should be so lucky
- We may even have an access to the sea
- Our treasury’s someone’s checkbooks
- And our armies are our good looks
- Nuclear fire under the front seat
- There will never be no defeat
Whatever they’ll ever do
They ‘ll never separate us
We are nation of two
We are the U.S of us

Thank you for letting me sing this - I'm really liking what I've heard of your music, and this is a very catchy, charming song, and it was a lot of fun to do! I feel very lucky to be a part of it.
Not bad for a nearly "blind" collab. After all, we only just "met." Thanks for your trust.
(And thanks, Bob aka fiveextraarms, for getting me into this)

who has to thank you for trying and doing it, and giving this song a lot more than it had in the first place. It's now more like a story or a movie in miniature anyone can run in one's head.

This is getting rather mushy.
CJ - If I recall, you once said something like 'I Detest Lovers Kissing In The Street......'
Seriously, this was really a cool surprise for me, even though I practically set you two up.... Call me Cupid, but I think I know a match made in MacJams when I see one.
Now why don't you two lovebirds get a room!

This is art for art's sake.
Don't you think this Bonnie & clyde picture on the page is cool?

Sorry, Bob, I'm spoken for...
Anyway, I do like the pic: looks, and angelic sounds, can be deceiving!

funny though, the first voice is what I heard while i was looking at estellie's picture and I was like: damn she's got a low voice (and maybe a german accent).
i like the snare doing all the work, and that keyboard part is great. nice job guys.

no one can accuse you of playing it safe. this is a very original style and very enjoyable. female vocals are angelic and the male vocals have a fantastic rhythmic element that i can't quite comprehend it's source. together they really blend perfectly and unexpectedly. i don't want to compare anything i've heard before, because i can't.

I too like the idea of the contrast between the voices. One full of dertemination and almost agressive, the other innocent and with a "guardian angel" ring to it. This brings something to the song, I guess.

This is a cracking version of this track (but I'm not objective, as I'ma big fan of you both). Estella's vocal has a lovely little girl sing-song quality that makes the song, given it's theme, a really subversive feel. Really like the contrast of the 2 voices - ella's childlike (but yeah, kina Nico-ish) and Jc's kinda killer-cold.
sweet like honey, but with broken glass in the jar.
