Such bliss &mdash 05/05/07 - 09:24:19 AM
To hear two of my favorite instruments played together -- piano and flute. Thank you Paul for another very peaceful number.
God bless,
Rick

Beautiful!!! &mdash 05/05/07 - 10:07:07 AM
Just what I need to hear this morning!!!! A song about going home, and joy and happiness. I love the little touches with the bells and violins too!!! :) [ Reply to This ]
Simply gorgeous &mdash 05/05/07 - 11:26:02 AM
It's just stunning that you aren't scoring movies - you're writing much more interesting stuff than John Williams, who has gone to the same well way too many times. You take such neat twists with what seem like even conventional atmospheres. I love the little flats sprinkled throughout this piece, and the descending section that feels a little like going down the rabbit hole. Another brilliant piece, Paul - you're simply da man when it comes to heartfelt orchestral music here at MacJams. [ Reply to This ]
Ensemble &mdash 05/05/07 - 02:49:33 PM
Beautiful ensemble work here. You really raise the bar for this genre here. I can hear this as the theme for a quiet love story. I downloaded a copy for my wife. Thanks for sharing this. [ Reply to This ]
You've captured it again &mdash 05/05/07 - 06:54:11 PM
A story in notes...Beautiful... the other day I was watching a movie and the background music not only didn't fit- it was very annoying. Your music, on the other hand, would have totally enhanced the movie. I concur with dreadmon, you should score movies. You're a natural born musician who translates feeling onto the keys. The POLITE thing, Paul... &mdash 05/05/07 - 08:32:14 PM
...is to wait until your LAST stunning piece is done dominating the MacJams Ratings before you post the next...
I'm with Bing on this. If you're not secretly the alter-ego of some famous scoring dude, you oughta be. You do, in fact, manage to play with the cliches and expectations of your corner of the romantic soundtrack sound, and set the expected against the tasteful twist...
And again, this is NOT the sort of music I usually listen to. For me, you are IT as far as anything like this is concerned. But I can hear the heart in every note you play, Paul. When you're playing and writing, you sound powerful and direct because it really comes through that, whatever you're playing, you MEAN it...
At LEAST start putting that CD together...

Damn you Mr P! &mdash 05/06/07 - 09:12:51 AM
Another stunner so soon after the last one.
Wonderful orchestration and beautifully balanced. You certainly show what you can do with GPO.
What more can I say?
Cheers
Dick

So many things to love about this piece - &mdash 05/06/07 - 01:19:45 PM
The descending sequence about a third of the way through, followed by a reflective pause and an ascending crescendo. It could become cliche, yet you do great change-ups with accidentals that steer it away from that.
The GPO instruments are great, and I have the 'sample' set that came with Finale, but hearing them used by a master such as yourself makes me want to go out and get the whole darn (expensive) set! Just gorgeous! [ Reply to This ]
another wonderful download! &mdash 05/08/07 - 01:23:22 AM
I loved the cascade of falling chords followed by the crescendo leading to a peaceful piano melody......simply wonderful! Food for the soul..... [ Reply to This ]
Terrific! &mdash 05/11/07 - 07:39:58 AM
One of the best tunes I've heard here this morning at least from my ears.
Nice fallen leaves sound which adds a nice transition to the tune. Then the upliftment is so cool as well.
Way to go.
Very nice indeed! [ Reply to This ]

Incredible... &mdash 09/30/07 - 09:54:37 PM
This song is absolutely fantastic. Definitely belongs in a movie. It's such a simple melody, yet you play it with such emotion that it brings a tear to my eye. Kudos to you, sir. [ Reply to This ]
