Lyrics
Too Much Not Enough
Words and Music by Jon Storm

He said, "I'm Alpha and Omega, I got me seven candlesticks."
I said, "We got too many candles, and not enough matches."
He said, "I got feet like fine brass, burned in a furnace,"
I said, "We got too many babies, and not enough shoes."
He said, "I got a two-edged sword, seven trumps and seven seals!"
I said, "We got too many passengers and not enough bus;
there's just too many of them--not enough of us."
He said, "I gave you space to repent of fornications,"
I said, "There's too much pornography and not enough sex,"
He said, "I got me an angel in a church in Philadelphia,"
I said, "We got too much insurance and not enough checks,"
He said, "I stand at the door and knock, I got a throne, got a crown,"
I said, "Well, we got too much of everything,
just not enough to go around."

He said, "I am to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone,"
I said, "We got too many leases and not enough limousines,"
He said, "I got angels, four beasts, and four-and-twenty elders,"
I said, "We got too many experts and they have nothing worth sayin',"
He said, "Look here at my lamb, with seven horns and seven eyes and golden fleece!"
I said, "We got too many police, entitlements, and taxes; we got
too many Congressmen and not enough axes."
He said, "It's a sacrificial lamb, and I got vials filled with odours,"
I said, "We got too many land fills, too much cologne,"
He said, "Well I got four horses, I got me four terrible horsemen,"
I said, "We got too many lawyers, and they turn into Congressmen,"
He said, "I've got a measure of wheat for a penney," I said,
"There's plenty of that stuff; we got too much of everything--
it's just still not enough!"

I heard a beast say, "Behold!" and he had himself a pale horse,
I said, "We got too many 'Stop' signs, and none that say 'Go!'"
He said, "I got earthquakes and pestilence and a moon that's like blood."
I said, "We got guards in our airports, so what the hell do you know?
We got bank cards and smart cards and fingerprints everywhere we go!"
Well, he spit and he stamped and he trotted out a jeweled whore;
he said, "I got a number for you," I said, "So? What's one more?"
He said, "I got devouring plagues and the bottomless pit,"
I said, "We got critics in New York and TV from L.A."
He said, "I got Apocalypse now and serpent to send your way."
I said, "We got too many justices, and they have nothing to say.
So you can keep your jeweled whore, we got the United Nations;
We got too much religion, just not enough revelations."

Dylan meets Simon
Wow, great writing. Kind of Paul Simon and Dylan combined. Totally cool. With a real drummer this is fabulous.

Does Bob Dylan come to mind here
This is outstanding, as probably everyone before me has already stated, but that okay. Good works deserve good comments and this is some kinda really good work.

And what Tobin said is true. it is like Paul Simon and Bob Dylan all wrapped up into one.

Thanks for sharing this one, it is just too good not to be heard.
