This is some cool guitar playing. Great harmonies in those licks. The comp guitar sounds like Mark Knopfler:)

Excellent job! Makes me want to pull the version I did of Youra`s Blues as it is infinitely inferior to your interpretation ( I actually feel embarrassed by mine in comparison to what you pulled off ). Very Very Good! You are an incredible guitar player!. Love the slick country lines, cool harmonies, and rippin ostinatos. Excellent tone and phrasing!

...Tele/G&L: it's all good.

Big fan of the sound. I shall have to visit your site. You're definitely doing it right!

Awesome riffs. Not too shabby for "...just farting around...", dude

Tele fever! &mdash 05/15/07 - 11:14:45 PM
yeah, there's just something about a tele. Joe Sanzeri from the killer band Team Rockit ( http://www.teamrockit.com ) once told me "once you play a Tele you'll never want to play another guitar" and he's right!

WHAT!! &mdash 05/09/07 - 01:03:53 PM
That's farting around? I gotta go to the "woodshed" and practice my chops after hearing that! I LOVE IT!! Very well structured guitar solo.
I really enjoyed how you used the beginning harmony as the "root" melody for your solo structure. Well done indeed!!! I"m scared to say this now, but I have a version.

from Texas? &mdash 05/15/07 - 10:51:18 PM
Actually I'm from Chicago. Texas is much too hot! but I did live there for a bit. I managed to rack up some moving violations that I never paid. Last I heard the fuzz showed up at my last place of residence looking for me. So, I don't plan on driving through Texas anymore!

That clean guitar is just fantastic. Great stuff. Very cool solo'ing too. The backing guitar during the first solo could have been a bit louder.

mix &mdash 05/15/07 - 10:45:36 PM
I played to a 2-track mix of Youra's Texas Blues and then multi-tracked my guitar on top of it. I hate mixing like that. If I had Youra's project file I would have mixed the rythm elements a little diffently. I do have to say though that Youra's mix is great. I din't spend a whole lotta time tracking or mixing this and I agree with you, it could have been better. Thanks for checing it out and for your time and thoughts!

There's such serious good humor in this. Terrific playing... I haven't listened to Youra's original, but this seems to me to be a nicely organic blend...

Hey Youra &mdash 05/15/07 - 10:27:11 PM
The track you put together - Texas Blues - is just fantastic. It has a great groove and feel. An authentic aura with a modern edge. I just loved it. I was practicing one night a week or so ago to some blues track I found on www.guitarbackingtrack.com and then suddenly I remembered hearing your track a while back. It was actually Chris' (PickQuick Records) version. And I thought that your Texas Blues track was absolutely stellar so I downloaded it and in about 10 minutes I came up with the melody and the 3-part harmony idea. I quickly recorded it and the rest just followed. Your track was truely inspirational. Thanks for sharing it with the MacJams community!

First of all, thanks for listening and commenting on my song because it led me to your stuff. This is great. You are a great player and I love the tone your getting from your G&L. This sounds really professional. I am looking forward to hearing more of your stuff.

There's something really infectious about this. Youra's rich and solid backing track is beautiful... and your lead on it is superb, fits right in. The way you syncopate while playing gives a playful bounce, but at about one and a half times what I would consider a safe speed to play guitar... making me even more light-headed and dizzy than normal... may need a warning label on this song :-) Excellent crafstmanship/playing here!
