Peaceful and pretty &mdash 05/10/07 - 06:38:47 AM
Ahhh...the sun is rpeeking through the trees, until it breaks out in a glorious dawn. A few brave birds are chirping in the still coldness, and the snow is sparkling like millions of diamonds. I can see it in your composition. Peaceful.... :-)

Unpredictable &mdash 05/10/07 - 08:23:17 AM
Paul, thank you for sharing this wonderful and beautiful music. There were a couple passages whose progressions sounded familiar, but you managed to make the turnarounds and transitions different from what I was expecting. And I can always appreciate a musician who is able to take the familiar and make it entirely new, as if Pound himself were looking over your shoulder and telling you, "Make it new, make it new." This is a lovely peice and I especially loved the brief key change early in the music. I can't wait to hear your next song. Take care.

I really like your description; it's a vision that makes for the perfect mindset for listening to this. The music is very peaceful, reminding me of just soaking up the beauty of nature.

Like that horn sound &mdash 05/11/07 - 07:46:32 AM
Cool arrangement. The strings works indeed very nice here.
All the instruments seem to flow quite good here.
Like that slow dance style. Then the autumn stand-stil. I like your style in the emotion of the upliftment at the end.

The lightness at the end is quite brilliant!

Masterful &mdash 05/11/07 - 02:42:43 PM
Your orchestrating here is very ambitious and comes together beautifully without overwhelming the quiet themes you are using. Thanks for sharing.

Somewhere out there... &mdash 05/12/07 - 04:31:24 PM
...is a cinematic project that is waiting for something as good as what you're doing...

These days when I listen to one of your new offerings, Paul, I just wish I "knew somebody in pictures" and could get your music noticed.

Well. You just keep piling it up, and maybe they'll end up making the movie about YOU. What the heck.

A sonic glow... &mdash 05/12/07 - 09:41:06 PM
...to this work as you take us along an unhurried and wistful journey. At times it reminded me of Henry Mancini's film work. Beautifully orchestrated suggesting sunlit ponds and golden meadows.
Lovely work Paul.
Best,
-Bowman

Very nice &mdash 05/13/07 - 08:34:10 PM
You instrumentation let those solo instruments stand out and clearly state the melody. The opening was slightly off, rhythmically, and it happened again a bit later with the bass line. I liked the rippling piano riff near the end, followed by that whimsical flute. (cardinal song, maybe?) Your music is always uplifting.

This reminds me, so much... &mdash 05/14/07 - 01:36:15 PM
...of my childhood. Playing with my toys under the speakers of the stereo while my dad played his beloved albums.

Fine, fine piece, Paul...
