Description:
This song is my first exploration into GarageBand, along with the World Jam Pack. Since I'm a Tribal Fusion dancer, I wanted to create something to dance to.

This song is a combination of various, more traditional middle eastern drums, voices, and instruments. I haven't experimented yet with effects.

I appreciate your comments and feedback! Thanks!

This is a great use for GarageBand &mdash 06/30/07 - 08:52:16 PM
You can put together things that are a good length for your dance, and just hit play! I like Middle Eastern Music a lot. I lived in Cairo for awhile, and got to listen to a lot of things in Lebanese and Egyptian styles. I even learned how to play the oud. The only thing that doesn't work for me is the solo violin. In my limited experience, the violin parts are always doubled at the octave, in ensembles rather than as soloists. Still - this is a great track, and really gives an excellent Middle Eastern flavor.

really nice mix &mdash 07/13/07 - 06:54:04 PM
This is a really nice mix. I really like the Oud sound. Oud is my favorite instrument. I am interested to know whether you used software instrument or loops for the Oud section. It sounds very real. I also like the combination of the Oud and the Persian Zarb or %u201CDumbak%u2019. The violin section sounds fine, I would also add an octave strings section. Thanks for sharing your work.
